Really nice refrigerator, with only one complaint

Very high quality, with only two exceptions: 1) The unit's noise level is higher than I expected for a KitchenAid, and higher than the competitor unit it replaced, and 2) The stainless steel-LOOK plastic tray at the bottom of the water/ice dispenser is discoloring along the front edge, and really detracts from the otherwise excellent look of this unit. See photo.

Love our new Fridge

Ice maker works great ( I first thought it was too small) and we have never run out of ice yet. When you add in $50 from our power company for a upgrade and the $25.00 I got from recycling..... it was a great buy.

Wonderful refrigerator except for the ice maker performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased model number KSF26C4XYY in early Feb 2014. Ice maker and water stopped working within 2 months. It was a stopped up filter. The factory certified care technician suggested removing the filter, a $45 item with a suggested replacement of 6 months. The filter was removed and ice and water service problems were resolved. July 2014 the ice maker again is not working. Water works, no ice is jammed in the ice maker (a common problem we have already encountered) now waiting for the technician.
Too many problems for a 6 month old $2000 appliance.

Some great features, but not happy with others

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is now exactly 3 years old and the ice maker stopped working. When it did work, it was very noisy while the water was filling, and when the ice cubes dropped into the bucket. The crisper drawer handles keep breaking, so I had to put a screw in it to keep it from coming a part. Water droplets keep staining the front of the door under the handle. Finger prints show easily and hard to get off. Water filter needs replacing $$ ever 6 months.
The good features: interior LED lights, consistent temps, nice looking, lots of space.

It has a pizza shelf that works fine for pizza and food that is flat and pies.Love all the drawers in it and easy to clean shelves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I currently own a Kitchen Aid side by side door which is 20 years old at the cottage and I am so impressed with its performance and the ease of replacement parts that I specifically looked for another Kitchen Aid refrigerator. They work really well even with the high humidity in the summer. Quiet and lots of storage space. The ice maker and cold water dispenser is just marvelous. How I ever lived with out one. So you have a very satisfied customer. Keep up the great design and production. I would definitely buy another Kitchen Aid refrigerator when the time comes. But they do last a long time.
