(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this refrigerator to replace a 25 year old Whirlpool side by side which was a wonderful refrigerator and is still working. I thought 25 years was pushing it to not replace it soon. I researched for over two years trying to find a side by side refrigerator with all the features I was used to. I bought the KitchenAid since it is now part of the Whirlpool family and I was told it was of higher quality than the Whirlpool. I like the size of the refrigerator and especially the amount of room in the freezer since the ice maker is on the door. The many lights inside the refrigerator are a plus and makes it easy to find items. The downside is that the ice maker makes about 1/3 the amount of ice that my Whirlpool makes. And as the other reviews that I read pointed out, the ice maker dispenser is so noisy that I am unable to hear the television in the next room when using it I thought maybe, it was an exaggeration but no, it is true, really, really loud!! You also are unable to open the refrigerator door while using the ice or water dispenser. The refrigerator is attractive but the finish scratches very easily. I have the black finish. I am somewhat disappointed with this purchase because of the information I shared. It does have it's positives. Time will tell if this refrigerator lives up to the Kitchen Aid reputation.

Wanted the feature of two separate "paddles" to turn on ice and water so searched and searched and ordered this hoping it would have all the features we wanted and it does! Nice and roomy, holds lots of produce in two bins plus a great bin we use for cheese and lunch meats.

Some great features, but not happy with others

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It is now exactly 3 years old and the ice maker stopped working. When it did work, it was very noisy while the water was filling, and when the ice cubes dropped into the bucket. The crisper drawer handles keep breaking, so I had to put a screw in it to keep it from coming a part. Water droplets keep staining the front of the door under the handle. Finger prints show easily and hard to get off. Water filter needs replacing $$ ever 6 months.
The good features: interior LED lights, consistent temps, nice looking, lots of space.

Very high quality, with only two exceptions: 1) The unit's noise level is higher than I expected for a KitchenAid, and higher than the competitor unit it replaced, and 2) The stainless steel-LOOK plastic tray at the bottom of the water/ice dispenser is discoloring along the front edge, and really detracts from the otherwise excellent look of this unit. See photo.

This item still bangs into the cabinet doors when opened . Door needs to be fixed or relined. Told me two weeks it's been 2 months and part still no call to come and fix the problem. Other then that it's been ok. Service department not so good
