Only 3 months old. Since first week, have had to throw away 4 dozen eggs, cottage cheese and lettuce for freezing.
Ice production is abysmal. I'm the only one in the family who gets one cup of ice a day to make my ice coffee......
Ice maker has been replaced twice, damper-motor also replaced, so now it doesn't constantly sound like there's a helicopter approaching
Water from dispenser is never cold.
Have been requesting replacement to no avail to date.

Sides are gray painted not stainless

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Overall, I like this refrigerator EXCEPT for the monochromatic color which I HATE. This means that the SIDES OF THE REFRIGERATOR ARE NOT STAINLESS, but are painted gray. I am having to purchase a stainless panel to add to the sides at $400 per panel as the sides are very exposed in my kitchen. This is NOT specified in the description. I would even rather black sides as the ovens and wine coolers etc. from this line have black sides.

Fails to match performance of 12+ year old refrigerator it's

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Kitchen Aid has delivered a highly touted product that in my opinion is an insult to the consuming public. The next day following installation, the ice maker failed to produce ice. And during the short time it was working, anemic pieces of ice dropping onto the plastic compartment sounded like our kitchen was under attack.
There is condensation on the freezer door exterior and refrigeration machinery is replete with obnoxious loudness. Electronic ice and water dispensing control displays on the freezer door are unnecessarily complex. Whenever ice is delivered (assuming the maker is still functional) most ends up on the floor.
Interior shelving has zero placement options to adjust space between shelves. Door bins are very narrow with very limited capacity. No provisions for egg storage.
I can appreciate why my initial review thoughts were rejected because of their derogatory nature, but it is extremely difficult to find nice things to say about an inferior product that should not be on the market.
Pros: None
Cons: ice maker does not work, no provision for holding eggs, Noisy, exterior condensation, Poor reliability

Needs better design

This refrigerator came highly recommended, but I have 2 complaints. One is that you can't open the refrigerator door while you are getting ice or water, so while you are filling a cup with ice, you can't open the door to get juice, soda, etc until you are done. I've never seen a refrigerator that the design inhibits that. The second complaint is that the water is not very cold. I have it on the coldest temperature but it is only mildly cool. My previous refrigerator dispensed much cooler water.

Lots of nice features--water dispenser, shelf room, plenty of freezer room, good inside lighting, ice maker does not take up room inside, easy to clean outside finish. Bins are roomy but flimsy acrylic. One bin already cracked. Biggest complaint is the refrigeration/freezer motor cycle is at times quiet loud and annoying. Have to leave the area. Expected the ice maker to be loud, and it is, but not the refrigerator motor.
Pros: Design, easy to use
Cons: Noisy motor
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
