Love this fridge!!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought this fridge in January 2014 and we are thrilled with it. The preserva food care system is excellent - keeps veggies fresh for over a week. The lighting and the stainless trim on the drawers and shelves is very attractive. The only small issue is the water isn't cold out of the dispenser but that's not a big deal. Highly recommend this fridge!!

drawers broken 3 times in 22 months

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We were very happy with this fridge overall but the drawers keep breaking.The top of the front of of the drawers are held by flimsy plastic tabs which break easily and cant be fixed-so we have duct taped 3 drawers!
Until this happened we really liked the fridge.
We will need a new fridge when we move soon-would buy this again if not for this problem-any solutions from kitchenaid?

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Initially, the control panel (for lack of better name) on the door didn't work: lights showed that door was open when it wasn't and vice versa. We had a repair guy out the first day or two we had it. Today I'll be calling about an ice maker that doesn't work. Grrrr.... We bought this Kitchenaid after a decent run with another Kitchenaid refrigerator (nine years), and this has been frustrating and disappointing.

The water/ice maker might be my favorite feature. I know that sounds silly, but it c ounces going into my glass and makes the perfect size of ice. The air filtration system really works. I can keep produce much much longer than I used to be able to.
Pros: Design, Convenient Features, Innovative, easy to use, Performance

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Overall, we are very happy with all of our KitchenAid appliances. When we renovated our kitchen, we bought EVERY item KitchenAid had available, including this fridge. Its been great, we love the auto dispense on the water dispenser, but water filters are $30.00 each (Recommended to change every 6 months.) Our biggest complaint is that the display panel for the water/ice dispenser is seperating from the fridge. Thankfully this happened within the first year of ownership.
Pros: easy to use, Innovative, Convenient Features, Design, Performance
Cons: ice bucket is loud, display panel coming seperated

We are extremely please with our purchase. The design and the stainless steel provides a beautiful appliance for our re-modeled kitchen. Ice maker has worked without any problems. Both crushed and cubed are used every day and there is plenty of ice. Inside of frig and freezer their are plenty of shelves, compartments and excellent lighting. Water filter is convent for replacements. No problems.

I will just make this a nice easy list on why not to buy the fridge.
Loud (the other reviewers are right) - at times this thing is very loud.
Water - warm and very slow, very very slow. (I have great water pressure in my house)
Also you cant open door and get water.

Ice - It makes enough ice for my family however I literally jumped out of bed the first time I heard the ice fall into the bucket. Once it gets more full it is not as loud but if you use ice then it gets louder.
If you use the ice then immediately use the measured fill feature on the water dispenser, the light will never go off on the dispenser. (you have to cycle through the light setting 3 times to get it to go off) Seems like a software bug. You will be using the measured fill feature because of how slow the water comes out.
You cant change the default setting on the measured fill feature. 8 OZ of water is the default so you have to press the button to increase it (which is not so responsive to pressing it multiple times)
Don't place anything on the front of the fridge. Yes it is magnetic however it WILL rust behind the magnets.
Condensation builds up on the left wall of the refrigerator side. Maybe not isolated correctly from the freezer?
Otherwise, fridge looks good and keeps my food cold. Nothing else really good to say about it.
Pros: Innovative, Convenient Features
Cons: Loud Motor, Loud ice, slow water, Buggy software, warm water

We had purchased a new Kitchenaid refrig as it was touted as "top of the line". It produced so much water that I had to wipe it off daily. After 4 repair calls it was determined that it could not be fixed and we got this unit as a replacement. It is such an improvement!
Pros: the lighting is great, love the butter keeper
Cons: the icemaker is very noisy, you can not open the refri door and get ice, the shelves are not adjustable
