[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised that the most notable thing I could think of about this refrigerator is that it is "well lit," but that is what comes to mind. The theater-style lighting is very effective at showing the contents of the refrigerator. I like the bright LED lights. The unit is very quiet, EXCEPT the ice maker which can be heard all over the house when it clunks. I don't know what to get excited about with a refrigerator. I like that it has so many drawers, especially in the freezer, and that they have see-through tops. Everything seems to work OK, and that's what one wants a refrigerator to do. One time the chilled water stopped working. I removed and replaced the same water filter, and it started working again and there have been no more problems.

Amazing cooling power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my Kitchen Aid SBS Architect with dual evaporators for a year now, and for all of you out there doing the research (as I did), I will comment on many of the other reviews out there.
There were several who complained about the sound of the fan. We have a dual evaporator, and I hear several different stages of the fans, with the loudest being slightly more than my old refrigerator. I only hear this one when the door has been open and then it shuts off several minutes later. Normal running when the doors are closed has a soft sound.
The ice maker works, but when I say works, I mean it is slow to regenerate ice. If you dump the small bin into your cooler to empty it, you will have to wait a day or so to get more ice. The dispenser itself is fine.
The water dispenser is also fine, but the measuring device is terrible. And, it has no memory. It is consistently 20% off from the correct amount, meaning sometimes your regular cup will overflow. If Kitchen Aid could fix this and add several memory amounts (for those of us who drink the same amount of coffee every morning), it would be a great improvement.
With this said, the rest of the refrigerator is remarkable. The lighting is spectacular and necessary as eyes get older. The plastic drawers and door shelves are clear and sturdy. The glass shelves are tough and easy to clean (although they do not prevent leaks like thawing meat from dripping down the side of the fridge nor are they adjustable).
What I find most remarkable is the amazing cooling power of the refrigerator and freezer. The freezer will freeze things solid in a short amount of time. And the refrigerator! It keeps everything at the perfect temperature. This means your lettuce does not freeze nor does ANY of your produce whether it's in a drawer or not. Our milk and perishables last longer than any other refrigerator we've had or used. Whether it's the dual evaporator or the filter packs, our refrigerator never smells. And, we've had no service calls the first year.
I love to cook and I love fresh produce, so if you are looking to keep your food fresh and be able to see it, this is the refrigerator for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love everything about this refrigerator. The features, design and quality are above average. Very well built and easy to change and re-arrange to your personal likings. The only negative is that the refrigerator door does not close on its own after you push it. It seems to lack that "pull" to close on its own. I have to constantly make sure it has closed.
Pros: Design, Innovative, Convenient Features, Performance, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the way the shelves and drawers can be moved around so I can put some items within reach of kids, others up higher. I have more space than my previous side by side. Easy to clean. Nothing bad to say!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a KA side x side w/ water and ice thru the door for the past 22 years. The only problem with the old fridg was the icemaker was really noisy. Friends w/ newer fridgs have much quieter icemakers so I was hoping for such with the new KA. However, it is very noisy and it spews ice chips everywhere! Also, there are fewer bins which are made more cheaply and the shelves are not adjustable on the new one. All in all fewer storage options. Additionally, the water dispenser on the old KA provided plenty of cold water. On the new one you cannot even get one whole glass of chilled water, just tap temperature which I can get at the sink! KA rep says there is less tubing for H2O running thru fridg therefore less cold water. I like that some shelves pull out, but overall not up to what I generally expect from KA.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: noisy messy icemaker, shelves not adjustable, h2o dispenser not cold
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
