A nice looking step backwards

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We have had this behemoth for about 6 months now. It looks nice inside and out. The interior lighting is very nice. Otherwise it is a poor reflection of the 15 year old fridge it replaced. Water in door is not cold. Indoor ice maker is noisy, ice dispenser is sloppy and spews ice chips. We could never figure out how to install the "freshflow" air filter. I promise that none of the instructions matched what I held in my hand. It was a puzzle with no solution. The whole door display is silly, a lot of geegaws that do nothing of value. The best I can say is that keeps cold, but any new fridge should do that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my new KitchenAid Refrigerator!

It has more room and more organization options than my last refrigerator. I especially like the freezer compartments. There is more room in the freezer due to the new placement of the ice maker. Great design!

Beware

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Purchased model number KSF26C4XYY in early Feb 2014. Ice maker and water stopped working within 2 months. It was a stopped up filter. The factory certified care technician suggested removing the filter, a $45 item with a suggested replacement of 6 months. The filter was removed and ice and water service problems were resolved. July 2014 the ice maker again is not working. Water works, no ice is jammed in the ice maker (a common problem we have already encountered) now waiting for the technician.
Too many problems for a 6 month old $2000 appliance.

WOW, WOW, and WOW

We are an extended family of 10, mostly teenagers. We've had our new Kitchenaid refrigerator for 2 months now and are very pleased! We especially like the stainless steel look and easy to clean surfaces. With so many teens in and out of it there are plenty of fingerprints daily and they just wipe right off. I REALLY like that all the shelf supports and door shelves are also stainless steel and not plastic; sometimes the kids are not gentle so I'm glad everything inside the frig is so durable! And there's plenty of room inside to handle all the perishables for this big family. Thanks, Kitchenaid, for something so beautiful AND practical!

Excellent looking Refrigerator. Has many extra features

KitchenAid 26 Cu Ft Standard-depth Side-by-side Refrigerator

The FRONT of this refrigerator looks nice and sleek, however, that is about the only positive statement that I have besides it does work, so far. When we ordered this refrigerator it was next to another at the store so I did not see the grey plastic sides. I thought I ordered a stainless steel refrigerator and it would be stainless on 3 sides. This refrigerator does NOT have adjustable shelves. Who would have thought a refrigerator does not have adjustable shelves? I have never had one that the shelves were not adjustable. That makes it less roomy because of the way the shelves are set. This was not a cheap refrigerator either. When I mention this to people they are surprised that this refrigerator does not have adjustable shelves. We did not want the icemaker but we wanted our appliances to match and KitchenAid did not make a refrigerator/freezer in that size without an icemaker
