Constant headache

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased all new Kitchen Aid appliances in May. All have been good except this fridge! Water on door quit working, next the ice maker quit working, next the fridge and freezer quit cooling, and now water isn't working on door again. It has been one thing after another. I would consider it very poor quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Starting to see rust spots appear on the doors. Not sure why because it's supposed to be stainless steel. Just bought the unit in March and had it delivered in May.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only glitch I discovered was at the left base which has a lower front tab that snapped over a stationary tab. I filed it down to eliminate the snapping sound.
Pros: Performance, Convenient Features, easy to use, Design
Cons: the plastic base does not match the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jury's still out. We've had problems with the ice maker and had a repair man hopefully fix it. The stainless steel finish is very time consuming to keep clean with an active family with small children. The water/ice on the door, at first, was very complicated to use and most of the features are unnecessary. But mostly we like our refrig.

Ice maker/water dispenser randomly stops working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first large kitchenaid appliance - i grew up with the professional mixer and so thought the same quality would apply to the large appliances. We recently remodeled out kitchen, and put in this fridge, and kitchen-aid double ovens. Both have had what I suspect are computer-based issues. This refrigerator occasionally (4 times in the past 7 months) has stopped making ice and we've tried everything...unplugged, turned the power off and on at the breaker, changed the filter, checked the line, etc. The longest this has lasted was one week. The day before the repairman was to come, the ice suddenly began to appear again. The water dispenser has stopped working twice over this time - not at the same time as the ice maker. In both cases, the water dispenser has started to work again within 24 hours. The only non-computer related issue we have had is with the surprisingly cheaply made vegetable bins - the door has pulled off twice (collapsing the bin, which you can then jenga back together, but it just seems shoddily made.)
