Very disappointed with all my appliances

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for a new house three years ago. We had issues with the fridge since the beginning: the condenser unit froze up. At the time, we replaced the rubber between the door and the unit. Now, close to the third anniversary and at the same time as other appliances started to fail, it is happening again. I am tired of having to move things to my garage refrigerator, to unfreeze this one, to have the issue return days later.
Trying to repair it one last time but ready to just throw this one away a get a new one - obviously not a KitchenAid.

Worst appliance ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator in October of 2014 and it worked fine for 6 months and that's when all the repair calls started. Even though kitchen aid came out for the first year after their warranty was up we had to purchase and extended warranty which we did. We are on a first name basis with the repair man. Finally today he said that he could not fix it. I see that multiple people have had the same issue on this model. I would expect more from a company like kitchen aid knowing this is an issue but still continue to sell the product at top dollar. I am so disappointed and will be taking my grips to social media so everyone knows that kitchen aid refrigerators are a piece of junk.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For what this fridge cost you should not have to deal with ice machine / water dispenser going out all the time for various periods of time for no reason. Now neither the freezer or fridge will cool. We've had it 2 years. Total junk and fits since about month 5 on. Stay away!

TERRIBLE PRODUCT
on March 26, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After renovating our kitchen, we purchased all new KitchenAid appliances and this (now discontinued) refrigerator has under-performed from the very beginning. Fast forward two years of owning and operating this unit: the appliance has all but failed us. We have to completely disassemble the cooling unit and defrost the fan element at least every 3 weeks. That's right - within 3 weeks, the fan and condensing unit is completely encased in solid ice. If there were a way to attach images to this review, I would show you the pictures I took of my husband doing it this weekend. After completing the process yesterday, it required 3 hours to manually defrost; that doesn't include the time it takes to completely empty the contents of the refrigerator and pack them in coolers to stay cold off-site during the defrost process. We lose hours of time each month for required "maintenance" on a completely ill-performing appliance. I have called KitchenAid with regard to this issue and am told that this is standard maintenance on refrigerators. I'm sorry but having to defrost and deice this appliance every 3 weeks should NOT be considered standard maintenance. And for a family with two small children (ages 2 and 6 month), this time is crippling our weekends. A word of warning to anyone out there that doesn't want to have to invest this much time and energy into your appliance: save yourself the hassle and buy another brand!!! I have been loyal to KitchenAid for years and have installed them in both of the houses we built previous to this one -- but this is my breaking point. #fail #extremelydisappointed

Terrible hazard
on September 15, 2017

We were unfortunate to have inherited this hazard of an appliance. We recently purchased our home and we're delighted by the finishes of the kitchen only to find that what we thought was a minor icemaker problem was a Control panel filled with ice. The ice maker has somehow filled the entire electronics compartment and frozen it into what the technician called "a museum quality piece of ice" leaving in a state where he could not even work on it without the entire door defrosting. Our home warranty wouldn't even cover a replacement or proper repair leaving us with no other option but to replace it. This appliance is four years old, I would recommend staying away from it.

Horrible product

We have had our current refrigerator for about 1 1/2 years. It was a replacement from one we had for about a year that had constant problems with the condenser freezing up. After 2 repairs we were finally able to get a brand new one. It has worked up until now. The condenser has frozen up again and the ice maker is not keeping the ice cold enough. I am not going to go thru the hassle any more of having to unload my entire fridge and spend an entire day defrosting. It sucks but I am going to have to replace it with a different brand. Very disappointing.

An expensive disappointment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poor use of space, drawers do not slide in and out easily, ice maker noisy and it "labors" to dispense ice. Have had numerous service calls. Cannot wait for my old GE that is in the garage to break, so,I can move this lemon out and get something better.
