Everything we hoped for

The freezer is very large yet doesn't seem to take space away from the regular part of the fridge.

Ice maker/water dispenser randomly stops working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first large kitchenaid appliance - i grew up with the professional mixer and so thought the same quality would apply to the large appliances. We recently remodeled out kitchen, and put in this fridge, and kitchen-aid double ovens. Both have had what I suspect are computer-based issues. This refrigerator occasionally (4 times in the past 7 months) has stopped making ice and we've tried everything...unplugged, turned the power off and on at the breaker, changed the filter, checked the line, etc. The longest this has lasted was one week. The day before the repairman was to come, the ice suddenly began to appear again. The water dispenser has stopped working twice over this time - not at the same time as the ice maker. In both cases, the water dispenser has started to work again within 24 hours. The only non-computer related issue we have had is with the surprisingly cheaply made vegetable bins - the door has pulled off twice (collapsing the bin, which you can then jenga back together, but it just seems shoddily made.)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't Buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After owning it for 10 months it had it's first problem....ice forming behind the drawers in the refrigerator side and eventually this shut down the cooling system on both sides. I had the same problem 3 more times within a year!! Finally decided it was not repairable. Many technicians have told me the dual evaporator system just doesn't operate the way it was built!! Going back to the basic design...single evaporator system!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Constant headache

Water on door quit working, next the ice maker quit working, next the fridge and freezer quit cooling, and now water isn't working on door again. It has been one thing after another. I would consider it very poor quality!

I searched your website to purchase a new water filter & am unable to locate which one fits my refrigerator. I see that if I take out the filter to determine what stock # it is, I must reset the water dispenser - Ugh!

Cons: digital controls are difficult.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look of this refrigerator. Is simple and functional. I like the fact that the freezer has more room than most refrigerators with ice and water dispensers.
The stainless steel is pretty, but at first it was hard to clean and keep clean. I finally bought a stainless steel cleaner and that has kept the doors smudge free.
Overall I think the refrigerator is good looking, and offers enough space for our family needs.
