Look at layout closely before you buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for about three weeks, and very frankly I wish I had taken a much better look at its layout before I bought it. The spacing of the shelves is ridiculous, and not really adjustable, so that there is a huge space you can't reduce, and then a tiny shelf, with literally just a couple of inches of height space, that is virtually useless. You can see it in the diagram. Take a GOOD look before you buy this. It works fine--but I am really unhappy with the layout, and I have no-one to blame but myself for not looking at it closely. I can't imagine how anyone with an even moderate size family can manage with this fridge.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

STOP!!! NOT A GOOD CHOICE

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have a brand new kitchen filled with expensive KitchenAid appliances, which I love, except for this refrigerator. It's awful. Terrible design. Can't even fit a head of lettuce into the produce bin without cutting it in half. Smallest bins I've ever seen. Plenty of other counter depth refrigerators out there that designed better. I wish I read the reviews before I purchased it, and I'm glad now that I didn't give away my old refrigerator. It's now in my garage and holding most of the food. Anyone wants to buy my almost new KitchenAid refrigerator ?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lots of Problems

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We originally purchased this refrigerator about 15 months ago and after MANY attempts to repair it the unit was replaced by the manufacturer. Most of the problems were related to the ice-maker but there were other issues as well. The new unit does appear to be performing better after the first 45 days of ownership. We bought a suite of KitchenAid products when we remodeled our kitchen and have also had problems with the stove/microwave and the cooktop. Overall, VERY disappointed in what we thought were high quality appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice/Water Dispenser Fix

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) When water and/or ice dispensing fails, check the ice bin inside the freezer door. If the cubes have solidified into a mass, remove the bin, let it thaw, dump the ice, and return the bin to the door. Our ice and water dispensed fine after that.

kitchenaid refrig

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The jury's still out. We've had problems with the ice maker and had a repair man hopefully fix it. The stainless steel finish is very time consuming to keep clean with an active family with small children. The water/ice on the door, at first, was very complicated to use and most of the features are unnecessary. But mostly we like our refrig.
I would recommend this to a friend!
