Great Value

This is a wonderful display. This has to be the most affordable 3D display out there. Comes with SimulView, a built-in sub, tilt-screen, etc. I hate the fact that it doesn't come with a remote, but then again how many monitors do? This is not a TV. I wish it turned on automatically with the PS3, although it does turn off automatically when the PS3 is turned off. I've read reviews before saying theirs is defective right out of the box, but it isn't. When you first turn it on when you take it out of the box, make sure you turn the HD functionality on, on the PS3 by holding the power button until you hear that 2nd beep from the PS3. So when you look at the display it asks you if you want to set it to HDMI output. If you don't do that the very first time you hook it up to your PS3, the display turns itself off automatically thinking you don't need it cause the PS3 is by default set to A/V cable output. The SimulView technology is awesome, it's just a little tricky the first time. I watch 3D Blu-ray movies in it, and I know it's money well spent.
What's great about it: 3D, SimulView, loud speakers w/ built-in sub, timeless design
What's not so great: No remote(to be fair, it automatically turns off when you turn your PS3 off)
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love it!

I love this little display, I was worried that my cable would look terrible from the reviews but i think it looks great. 3D games are fun and exciting. You need to spend a little extra cash to get enough glasses for everyone. Overall I would consider this a little pricey but worth it.
What's great about it: 3d games, movies, crisp hd tv with my cable box
What's not so great: small, expensive, needs accessories
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bungled Bundling of PS3 3D Display

I am very unhappy with the PS3 Display because we cannot use Simulview since the one pair of glasses that was included in the package was broken (but will be replaced by Sony), and nowhere in the package manuals or in the Sony store online does it say that when purchasing a second pair, NO OTHER MODEL of Sony 3D glasses works to utilize the Simulview feature. Only the CECH - ZEG1U glasses can be used. Since this was a Christmas gift to my children, we were convinced to invest in this model because of the Simulview technology, but we had no glasses to use. So, I purchased 2 extra pairs of Sony TDG-BR250 3D glasses thinking they were compatible with the PS3 Display. This ended up costing me over $100 more to use the PS3 Display, only to find out they do not support Simulview! Why on earth would Sony just include one pair of glasses for a system that requires 2-pairs to work properly? And why was it not clearly stated anywhere that when we bought a second pair, we HAD to buy a specific model of glasses to use Simulview? I do not feel like spending another $50 to buy a third pair of glasses. I have spent hours now trying to fix this problem. I am strongly considering returning the whole system to Sony out of frustration. Whoever put this promotional bundle together did not think this through carefully. I noticed that none of the other reviewers has mentioned coming across this problem, but that is probably because they have not tried to use the Simulview feature yet. Sony Customer Service has been very polite and professional in replying to my complaint; but for some reason, my simple request for a complimentary pair of glasses to solve the problem (in lieu of my returning the product and using the money to buy a regular 3D HDTV with a bigger screen) is beyond anyone's ability to authorize in the company. Having been a loyal Sony consumer since the first Walkman came out in the 70's, and after spending almost $2000 in the Sony Store this Christmas, I think it's reasonable to expect that my simple request be approved. I'll let you now how this turned out in a follow-up review.
What's great about it: Great 3D imaging, little ghosting, good value overall
What's not so great: Can't use Simulview out of box, flimsy 3D glasses, glossy monitor screen
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for Specific Consumers

This was my initial review of this product during the first week of use:
I was on the fence about purchasing this display for a while now but I finally convinced myself to buy it. I read a lot of reviews and comments for this product so I have heard all of the pros and cons.
In my opinion, I think this display is best suited for consumers who are looking for a computer monitor and have ps3s. The quality is great for gaming and watching movies and the screen is a great size for your computer. The display also looks unique compared to your typical computer monitor and has built in speakers and a sub woofer. While the speakers are not amazing or mind blowing, it's still a nice addition. Do not judge the size of the screen in a large store as it will look smaller due to the large space. When I unboxed it in my room, I was surprised and it looked bigger than I expected. A lot of the flaws are minor to me and I can easily overlook them. For ex. the glare of the glossy screen (like a psp), the buttons on the back of the display w/ no remote, if you have a big head the 3D glasses may be a tight fit, and the size. If any of these things are a huge concern for you I would not recommend this product. This should NOT be used as a primary TV in a living room and don't expect to invite a group of friends over and watch movies on this display. The size is just not big enough and is difficult to view if you are not in your chair directly in front of it. This unit is great if you are looking for an individual product, not something you will share with a crowd of people. The 3D is great and Simulview works well.
At the end of the day, this product does exactly what I expected and was not disappointed. If you go in aware of the minor flaws and are still interested, you will not regret this purchase.
My feelings now after 1 month of use:
I still love the product but encountered a MAJOR problem. After about a month of use, the display malfunctioned and would not turn on. This is exactly what happened: I turn the monitor on and the display does not turn on. The indicator light below, which is red when off, turns blue, then green, and then blinks red twice every 2 seconds until you just turn it off again. I checked Sony forums and it seems that there are a decent amount of people encountering this same issue. I emailed Sony and they told me to follow standard trouble shooting procedure, none of which helps solve this problem. Sony has not yet released a fix or trouble shooting for this problem so if you decide to purchase this display, be sure to get a warranty or protection plan for it. I know it comes with a 1 year warranty with Sony but they don't seem to be taking it very seriously so I would suggest a 2 year protection plan from best buy, which is what I got. I exchanged my display a few days ago and the display is working fine, for now. I expect this problem to be resolved by Sony, eventually but I would tell customers to hold off on this product until they do.
What's great about it: great quality (240 hz refresh rate ), good size for computer monitor and for your room, 3D is good and Simulview works
What's not so great: glare, no remote. (All minor issues) *MAJOR ISSUE: would not turn on so I had to exchange it.

Better then my 3D HDTV!

To keep this short, the Sony PlayStation 3D Display is the best of it's class & for $500 it's a must buy if you play PS3, Xbox 360 or PC games. also get the PS3 Wireless 7.1 headset, it work great & you can use it for PC as well.
Display & Picture Quality: 10/10
Just WOW, the Image Quality on this display is top class, 2D Picture Quality is very sweet, the colors & brightness are just perfect, the black level on this display is way too good,
Also you going to see a lot of details in games you never saw before, the display image quality is like the Apple Rentia Display. 240hz & input lag, i test from Uncharted 3, MW3 & Batman. not even once i saw any input lag. the display run at 4ms. 240hz works like a dream, no slow down what so ever in games. GTA IV is one of the games you can see the framerate issue but 240hz on this display, the game run very smooth, no slow down what so ever.
3D Quality: 9.5/10
The 3D image quality is great, 3D brightness & colors just right, better then any 3D HDTV display out there. i play Uncharted 3 in 3D & wow, i didn't want to go back playing it in 2D, that how great the 3D was. as for 3D Movies, i watch Cars 2 in 3D & just wow, it was really nice, you have to see it for your self. i did saw a very tiny bit of ghosting in Uncharted 3 but only on the middle of Chapter 5. this is one of the second best 3D display i ever seen, the first is the Sony Person 3D Viewer.
For the Display Glossy, turn off the light it work for me.
What's great about it: Great Picture, 3D Quality, the Display is just as the Apple Rentia Display which is very sweet.
What's not so great: Speakers are weak, the Screen Display is Glossy, no 32in Display : (.

I wanted it to be so much better.

I was one of the first people to pre-order this when i heard about it. I was super hyped about everything i was getting. When i finally received my display, I noticed how glossy the display was and thought I could look past it. Then I noticed how horrible the ghosting was. I was coming from a 16 inch CRT television and a 18 inch LCD monitor, both of which i switched back to after only a day of use. The ghosting is just too intense for any movement. Still images look great but its a display not a picture frame. 3D actually has less ghosting than its non-3D display setting. If you're buying this for NOTHING but 3D viewing than by all means, Its fantastic for you.
What's great about it: Color and 3d look great.
What's not so great: Horrible ghosting/crosstalk in non 3D viewing, glossy finish causing intense glaring, PC support is non existent

As soon SONY have claimed this product is good for use with our PCs, there is an upcoming reasonable question.
Does this thing supports 3D Vision technology from nVidia? And will It do fine with GeForce?
Also, you should have separated some pre-order options for people who won't prolly interested in PS3 game included. Give us a Battlefield 3 copy or something.
Please reply.
Thanks!
