Excellent, but. .

I'd rank it with 5 stars (easy to install, works well, attractive, secure), but it lacks one feature that my old Schlage lock had: the ability to exit (but not enter!) while it's in the locked position, without having to manually reset the lock.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor Craftsman ship

I've always had good luck with Kwikset door knobs until now. The basic knob is good, heavy constuction. I like the Smartkey feature, very easy to re-key for existing knobs. The cover for the knob, inside and out just falls off. This is the part that actually contacts the door. I could not return to store, I had to install it to secure my house. I used a punch were it is supposed to catch the main body of the knob and tap it lightly (because it's very thin) to tighten it up so it stays in place.

Very difficult to install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 Juno knobs (1 Keyed, 1 Hall/Closet and one that connects to an exterior latch). The look and the finish matches other doorknobs in my home so I thought they would be great. However, the installation was unnecessarily difficult due to very poor design.
If the screws that secure the knob to the door aren't screwed in exactly right, the knob falls off during use. It wasn’t possible to use a screw driver of any size to tighten the screws after the knob was attached.
It's difficult to describe the problem. The interior knob and faceplate come attached to one another as a single unit. The screws are attached to the opposite knob and pass through the latching mechanism. To install, one has to snag the screws with the faceplate and twist the knob to lock it in place. Because there is no way of knowing exactly how far to screw in the screws I had to repeat the process over and over again until I finally gave up. The doorknobs are functional but I fully expect them to fall off again. The knob on the exterior latch set is wobbly and leaks cold air. Not a happy camper.

I have spent quite a while trying to install this doorknob. It should not be that difficult. The directions are terrible and are pretty much worthless. I now have a $20 paperweight and no doorknob. Awesome.

Backwards for a security lock

I bought this for our bathroom door. We are changing all of our interior door knobs from gold (which I've never liked) to the bronze. I pulled this out of the box and started the install. Just when I started to put it together I realized the screws are on the outside. It has the small hole for the pin to open in an emergency. But if somebody wants in they can just unscrew it from the outside even if it is locked. Some people might say it's not a big deal but what is the sense of having a lock when someone can just grab a screwdriver and get in. You wouldn't want your front door like this.

With this lock when it is locked you are locked in as well as locked out !! When inside you must unlock the door to go out side !! Crazy, i have never and will never use a lock like this, i dont even see how it is legal or up to code, what if there is a fire in the middle of the night ?? you would need to unlock the door to get out. This lock set will be returned and i will buy a Slage lock set.

Hello GGs,
We appreciate your feedback and would like the opportunity to offer some additional information. The Juno knob can be unlocked from the interior by turning the turn piece in the horizontal position and from the exterior knob with the key. We do offer free interior levers, where you can push down the lever on the interior side to unlock. Please click on the following link for more details on one of our free interior levers.
If we can provide you with any additional support, please give us a call at 1-800-327-5625. We look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you, Kwikset

Screws on the outside?

I bought these awhile back didn't realize that kiwkset didn't understand that screws should go on the inside of the locked door. What is the point of a locked door if someone can just disassemble the door from the other side?

Response from kwikset.comBy Mariana, Customer Care, February 9, 2021
Hello Rob87,
We appreciate your feedback. We have designed the Juno privacy knobs with exterior screws to remove in case of an emergency if the emergency key is not available to insert in the hole to unlock from the exterior. For example, if someone was inside and unable to open the door, the knob can be unlocked or removed from the exterior by removing the screws. If you're looking for more security, we recommend the Juno keyed entry knob, which would require someone to have a key to unlock the knob from the exterior. If there’s any additional assistance that we can provide, please call our Support Team at 1-800-327-5625.
Thank you, Kwikset

Unable to use lock after 8 yrs. Lock button stuck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these entry knobs for a seasonal home eight years ago. After very light use, the one lockset would not unlock because the button was stuck. I filed a warranty claim, and a replacement lock was sent. However it was not a Juno model.

Hi Julie, Thank you so much for your review. We did take a look at your previous case, we did send you a Tylo knob by mistake. We've opened a new case for you and will be sending the correct knob as soon as possible. Thank you, Devon, Kwikset Social
