Fast!

I used to have a Neat scanner for Mac, but this scanner seems too be both faster and better, one I figured out what to do with the scans; PageManager is different from the program that is integral to Neat scanners but I find its actually better for my use because I can more efficiently scan and store my documents. I'd give it five stars except that a couple of times it's quit working and I had to unplug the scanner and restart the computer before it would work again.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had 2 large scanners which were part of all-in-one printers. Scanning both sides of documents was a real pain. There are a number of scanners available that will scan both sides but most of them are very expensive. This Brother 720D works great and actually scans fast than my large scanners. The fact it is portable is a real plus. Definitely worth the price

Image quality is crying for help

The scanner is portable which is the best feature. Image quality is really low, has I known this all along I would have not purchased it.

It works, but fails to calibrate

I purchased a "refurbished" unit, it and the software work and are simple enough to use, but it consistently fails to calibrate. I have had to experiment with brightness and contrast settings to get a nice image without print through on double sided documents. The case I ordered for it is nice, semi-ridged and has a webbed pouch for the USB cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not Bad, but Not Good Either.

The quality of scans produced on the 720D is reasonably good, especially bearing in mind its price. However, if you're a Mac user, the software available is rather limited. PageManager Software, of course, is included, but after several attempts to communicate with and get information from their customer service dept., I realised that the only practical approach was to use the included DSmobile Capture Mac interface. That, however, is rather limited, but adequate. The other disappointment is that when scanning regular narrow receipts, the paper usually starts turning to one side or the other, resulting in a less than perfectly shaped image. Regular letter size sheets are fine. I had hoped this would replace my older regular desktop scanner, but unfortunately no. It is, however reasonably good value for the money, and its portability is its best feature. However, not supporting 'Image Capture' or 'Preview' for a Mac user in its drivers, is definitely not a point in its favour.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
