Great compact scanner

I've used this scanner for a few weeks now and love it. It was easy to use with my computer and scans beautifully! It's great for traveling because of it's size.

Works as Advertised!

Texas courts requiring efiling of legal docs so had to get first stand alone scanner. This one on sale at Microcenter was supposed to be temporary expedient. Sits on top of desktop box with only USB connection, works perfectly with included software making searchable PDF docs, a key issue. A handier stack sheet feed model by Brother/Fugitsu would cost three for four times as much, meanwhile this guy fits in laptop bag to take to other locations. Quality is good with hocky puck reliability. Just download software from Brother site for use with other machines.

Good unit - Doesn't place duplex pages into 1 file

It is a nice unit and is easy to set up. Unfortunately, it doesn't do the one thing that I thought that I would get in a duplex scanner - it will NOT place both sides of the business card/insurance card into 1 file. This makes it harder to use within our electronic health records (EHR) system. I followed the manual, and spent a lot of time trying to figure this one out.
Finally I called tech support about this. It took a week or so for the right person to get back to me. (He apologized and said that he had been on vacation - which is fair enough.) He thought that the product did what I had hoped it would do. When I got specific about my needs, and he tried it, he promised to get back to me as soon as he figured it out. It has been a couple of weeks now - and still no call back.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased this item based on my experience with Brother products. This is a great product. The price, ability to carry the scanner everywhere and great work produced by this scanner make it one of the best investments i have made.
