I've had Otterbox cases on every cell phone for the past 10 years or so and for my iPad too. I've always splurged and ordered the Defender series case because I'm looking for serious protection for my investment. This time I ordered one of the Commuter cases with the intention of saving money. Mistake on my part. Not the high level of protection you get with a Defender case but then it IS less expensive. After a couple of times removing and replacing the outer shell it seemed to warp slightly. In addition, the color was not what I was expecting. Bottom line....I ordered the Defender after a couple of weeks!!
Cons: Low quality, Not durable

Excellent and getting better

I had the Commuter for the Motorola Droid X & Razr. Both very good but had some issues with the loose fit & quality of the rubber.
MUCH improved with a very tight & solid fit and the rubber/silicone is a better quality (Made in USA). 5 out of 5.
I would like the Motorola logo to show on the back for finger placement.
Pros: High quality, Durable

One Minor Shortfall

The rubber case portion which also covers the side volume button prevents proper use of the volume button in both up and down direction. This is the only issue that otherwise would make this a stellar case. My only self fix solution, and may not be totally product recommended, would be to carefully cut out the volume button slot with a small detail knife careful to leave the rest of the case properly in tact. It may just be better to discuss this with the manufacturer and perhaps get a replacement.

Another great product. I've had Otterbox's for over 2 years and each on has given stellar protection to my phone.
This particular model (Moto X) is no different. The best protection I was looking for was for the camera lens and the overall shell. The plastic back had a more recessed opening that protected the camera lens than other devices I looked at. That was a selling point. Also the plastic molded back showed me that if it did take a fall, the combination of the plastic back and the rubberized corners would help break the fall and provide added shock protection.
Also really like the thin style and design of this particular model (Commuter) as the phone itself is slim and the best phone to handle without a case (naked!)

I like the size and feel of this case, my only issue was the screen protector did not fit my unit, it does the job, but it leaves about 8mm of unprotected glass.
