We use this with a defender series case for my husband's work ipad. My husband works in a pretty rough industry where falls and breakage are a distinct possibility. This Utility latch makes it easy for him to hold onto and use the ipad at work while the case protects it from possible falls. The two together are a wonderful combination.

Works great makes it easeir to hold I pad mini in vertical position. Allows use when moving around. Would like to see the handle be able to adjust so that you can hold it on the horizontal. Also if the carry bag was a little bigger so it could contain the charger and cable. Other wise very well made product would recommend to any one.

I purchased the Otterbox Utility Latch for use on an industrial jobsite. I had purchased the Samsung Note 8 earlier to help me carry my contract specifications around in a more compact form. While I liked the Note 8, it was difficult for me to hold in my relatively small hands for long periods. I saw the Otterbox and thought it would help. It does. The fit and finish are excellent. I expect to get years of service out of it. The strap on the back allows me hold the pad without having to actually grip it, much more comfortable.
I have only two minor criticisms. First, since I prefer to use the pad tilted sideways (landscape mode?), the hand strap on the back runs the wrong way. It is not adjustable. Second, the backplate of the assembly covers the camera lense on the backside of the pad, preventing it's use without removing the straps. This means I still have to carry my digital camera. Neither are crippling deficiencies to me, just irritations.

the strap is very helpful. I have child sized hands and having the Latch II on my Galaxy Tab 3 helps so much when it comes to holding my tablet and using it. My hand barely stretches across it to hold it, making it very difficult to hold. The strap makes it like a 'camcorder' or a baseball mitt and my hand is very snug underneath and I don't drop it. I have my hand inside it when I'm laying down using my tablet and it's much easier and more comfortable than before.
I was afraid I wouldn't be able to use the shield that came with my Galaxy Tab 3 Otterbox with the Latch, but with the shield snapped onto either the front or the back of the tablet the Latch still fits over it.
The Latch strap does not make it stand propped up angled like the shield does, but I'll take it because it's more comfortable to have on my stomach when I'm laying down than the shield stand. I received this free from Otterbox for when they gave me a $60 credit for my phone case being discontinued so I can't complain.

I purchased this for my ipad mini. I got it so that while using this at work it easier to type on with out worry of dropping the ipad. While have a defender to total protect the ipad, this just a a greater degree of protection and ability to hold the ipad while typing on the ipad. Really great
