It was supposed to fit either a 7" or 8" tablet, but with any real use the corners slip off. There needs to be a specific one built for both the sizes listed above, not a one size fits most.
Cons: doesn't really fit

lacking in durability

I have used this particular unit for over a year now. I have gone through maybe seven of them. The original one had a tough set of canvas corners but this one has cheap rubber and tears easily at the ends where the strap goes through.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The smaller version of the Latch fits just right on the iPad mini. I use it all the time to carry my mini hanging off my belt or pocket with the included S-clips in the accessory pouch. The shorter elastic and rubberized corners grip well and hold it securely in the carrier.

I love OtterBox, had them for all my phones. I have to carry a iPad mini 8 hours a day in the horizontal position, and this handle is not ment for that. It is well constructed, but it should have a swivel handle.

I bought this because an Otterbox Defender wasn't available for my tablet & I needed some way to handle it. It is well designed and if you get the accessories, which I recommend, you can hang it or secure it to other places, like a leg when you are sitting. Anyway, great product.

I'm a landscaper and often use my i pad both for work and when grocery shopping. I carry the pad in my purse but wanted a way to keep it secure but accessible when i was using it on the job or shopping, without tucking it back in the purse. The upgraded Utility Latch solves the major criticism relative to the older version about the pad potentially falling out of the Latch. Yes, you do have to use an Otter Box case (and why wouldn't you?) but if you do there's just no way that the pad will fall out of the new Latch. The retaining straps on the Latch don't interfere at all with the screen size of the pad. The hand grip is very comfortable and makes the pad easy to actively use while walking around. The shoulder strap allows me to keep the pad handy and secure when i'm not immediately using it. I was surprised that the i pad with the Latch doesn't take up much more space in my purse than the pad without it. It's also very easy to remove the Latch if you don't need it for a while. With the friendly customer service from the Otter Box folks you couldn't possibly do better! All this good stuff to say about a fine product and no, i'm not an employee or friend, just a happy Otter Boxcustomer!
