My phone is well protected but the belt holder has broken again and phone nit the pavement for the second time the rubber protector kept it from breaking. I'm going to buy a cloth case with a magnet flap as soon as I can find one that fits my phone. I think this protector is great but the belt case need's an redesign.
Pros: High quality
Cons: Not durable

Great case; poor holster clip

The case provides great protection for the phone while still allowing good functionality. The problem is with the holster and clip. I've broken two clips when the phone has caught on something. Otter has been great about replacing it, however.
Pros: case is extremely durable and high quality
Cons: plastic holster clip breaks easily
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Otterbox Defender for Verizons Droid Maxx

First and foremost, this case is actually very interesting and difficult to take apart initially. For those who are new to "reverse engineering" a product without damaging or breaking it, my review should help you out tremendously (read the "massive" paragraph at the end)
First, you have 3 sub assemblies to the case. First, the holster is used to carry your phone on your person as you wish however, the clip is fairly sturdy and the spring has a fair amount of tension to prevent the clamping strength from being excessively weak or strong. Second, the rubber exterior serves as a cushion or concussive force dampener and finally, the hard plastic cover that serves as the interior that receives and disperses the concussive forces in order to protect your phone from breaking in half. Please note that this case has a built in screen protector to protect your glass from experiencing a deep gouge or severe crack.
The pros: This case is high quality and is very durable however my only complaints revolve around the built in screen protector and the lack of instructions for case disassembly.
The cons: The screen protector barely seats plush to the screen and I would love to see a custom option to pick a cover replacement with the "privacy" screen built in. I will begin by stating that my household has two of these cases and between my phone and my wife's phone, we experience similar problems where we need to press into the screen with a bit more force (gently) to trigger a reaction from the screen. Please note, do not buy a screen protector with this case as they do not work well together unless the built in screen protector is forcefully removed (strongly advised against). Also note that the front camera's quality is reduced due to the extra layer of plastic present infront of the camera lens.
To separate these assemblies, the holster is by far the easiest to work with. Simply look for the plastic that does not overlap the phone case and rotate the phone out of the holster. To remove the rubber assembly, simply slip your thumb nail inbetween the rubber and hard plastic and simply pry/lift the plastic off of the case and proceed to remove it as if it were a glove. The rubber is seated in the plastic via a small grove tracing that runs around the outside edge surrounding the screen protector assembly making for easy removal. Finally, the hard plastic is the most difficult challenge to figure out your first time around as it may feel counter intuitive to some. Simply start from the top corners of the assembly slide your nails underneath the 2 nub posts located on the sides and feel for the small gap/crevice between the top (screen protector) and the bottom (the solid hard plastic) assemblies along the small nubs. Simply pry them separate and ensure that you apply pressure downwards or into the small notches in the hard plastic to separate them further with great care. After you get it started, just follow this practice to finish opening up the remaining portion of your case.
Pros: High quality, Durable, added thickness, clip on holster can be used for a stand, holster feels like a part of the case
Cons: lack of custom screen protector type, screen protector does not sit plush to the screen, front screen protector blocks camera, front screen protector inhibits touch screen, screen protector covers camera lens

Great protection for your phone. Only issue I had was belt clip broke when it got snagged on seat belt but the replaced it under warranty(took less than a week for replacement). Otherwise works great, all phone features are accessible with case on.
Pros: High quality

The case is very well made and strong. The biggest problem is the belt clip which is poorly attached to the holder. It has broken off several times.
Pros: Durable
Cons: belt clip cheap
