Having the case gives me peace of mind so I don't have to constantly worry about whether or not when something major happens, like hitting the cement, that my phone is damaged and won't work. It has been around one month since I have started using Otterbox Defender for my Droid Maxx.
The first time I tried to take the white inside cover off the phone, the small white tabs broke at a couple of places. I thought to myself - "what a start!"
I read online that Otterbox has a very good warranty policy and thought I should put a claim. After all, it was just one day old product.

I was surprised that within 10 days I had a replacement product shipped right to India.
Now, this time I was more careful with the case while putting it on to the phone.
And I will surely try and avoid taking it off the phone, simply because it is a pain to take the case off.

The very first time I tried to take the case off, I damaged my finger nails and actually had my thumb bleed - I am not kidding.
Then on, I realized that using a small flat screwdriver, pressing the small white tabs inside helps release the top white case from the bottom one.

1. The screenguard reduces the touch sensitivity. It is like tapping on a resistive touch screen. This is a serious issue.
My replacement case does the job a little better than the old one simply because the tabs are holding the case closer together. After opening the tabs one or two times, the gap increases and then the touch screen will move further away from the screenguard.

2. Adds a lot of bulk. The phone is now about twice the size of the actual phone inside it. The length is also much more and removing it from my pant pocket is tedious when I am on a bike.
Not used the belt clip after first day.

I love your product and would not trust any other to protect my phone. However, I have had major problems with the belt clips over the few years that I have used them. I admit that I am rough on them due to my occupations, being a firefighter and a building contractor, I am constantly having it snagged and it breaks the clip. I realize that it is best that it gives and breaks and not my belt or clothes. I have often wondered if it could be designed to where it would come apart at a certain pressure and not break, then it could be snapped back together. You have a great warranty program but the down time between breakage and replacement is a major problem for me. Thanks!

This is my third phone due to upgrades in phone and this is my third Otterbox. I work hard and play hard and this case has protects my phone all the time. Even went into a three feet deep catch basin filled with water and was there 1 minute. Pulled it out, dried it off and it had no problems. It has been Great. However, The present phone I have doesn't fit into the carrying case as well as all the others have! So when I step off of a truck or trailer or jump less than a foot in height, I know my phone in its Otterbox is going to fall out of the belt clip case. Never happened with any other Otterbox and always happens with this one. So often times with this Otterbox I have to check to see if the phone is still there. Not a good feeling to find the case empty.
