There's a very tiny gap between the screen and the plastic over it, which causes a lag every time you touch the phone. Makes texting annoying and some speed-based games impossible.
Nearly impossible to remove the case. Had to take a screwdriver to it, which is a terrible risk to both case and phone.
Much harder silicone (the rubbery outer covering) than my iPhone one. Prefer the soft, rubbery kind.
Nothing covering several key parts (like the sensor, which can't be covered), so it doesn't really afford any water protection at all, even rain droplets. It doesn't claim to, I know, but having had the Defender case for an iPhone 3gs, I'd come to expect more water protection.
Still, I can drop it on the street and not fear for its life, which is mostly what I need.
The case is great, fits like a glove with great phone protection, which is needed as the design of the belt holster leaves a lot to be desired. My phone has fallen out of the holder so many times, without the great case, I would not have a phone.
The case is one of the better ones out there. When I got the new Moto X i had to get the Defender Series Case being it looked the best for this type of phone. I had no problems putting the case on the phone. But when I went to take it off to clean the screen on the phone was a lot harder and ended up breaking at the bottom of the screan at the mic. Maybe some type of tool could be included with the case to help ease getting the case off the phone. But it is a good design and strong case.
my new otter box is great. I am constantly dropping my phone and this protective case really with stands quite the beating. The only negative I have to say is that the case was constructed with one of the openings being in the wrong place. This is where I would plug in a headset. It is still accessible, however I have to open the tab.
