MFCJ435W All-in-one Printer

It was easy to setup the printer with my wireless network and also the Fax/scanner. The problem occurred when installing the specific drivers on my PC (Win Vista 64 bit) using the disk provided. The Fax and Scanner installed correctly but the Printer driver did not install. It wasn't until I called tech support and spoke with a rep that we worked our way through the problem. It appears that there is a download update that contains the proper driver, date of 11/2012 that was not available on the disk. Nor could it be found in the available printers listed on 'add a printer' via my opsys. I downloaded an update package and had to install the printer this way. Your 'installation diagnostics' still reflects printer driver not installed on the Control Center. This really needs to be resolved. Your tech suppt was very quick to say it was a registry problem but I am a very experienced PC person and knew it was a driver issue. They didn't know that there was an executable on the download and that had to be installed so the opsys could find the driver. A clearer description of installing on VISTA needs to be documented.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this on the recommendation of a friend and have had it only a week. The installation was painless and it functions well, the resolution is excellent and it is fast. The only concern is one that is common to most printers; the cost of the printer cartridges. This particular printer requires 4 separate cartridges; one black and three color; replacement cartridges cost over one half what the printer cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works great for copying, but has a noisy cleaning cycle. Thought that was odd that it cleans itself way too often for as little as I use it.

It cost more to replace the Cartridges than I paid for the printer, but I did get it on sale at a really great price. This machine works great.

this was easy to set up and works great. after hp and canon printers hat didn't want to feed paper properly, this printer has worked perfect from the start and has great quality prints
