Worst Microwave Ever!!!! Do NOT Buy!!

You have to take the entire microwave apart to clean all the Splatters off the door. I can’t stress enough that this model is the ABSOLUTE Worst ever made! It will take at least 2 hours to take apart and clean. I did not choose this microwave— it was chosen by the Apartment complex I moved into — most certainly because it is CHEAP!!!! Hey Hey

Cheap Design Poor Quality

The electrical control board failed within 2 months, luckily it was under warranty. The molded handle screw bosses broke within 6 months. I was able to figure out a fix by using longer screws to get a firmer hold on what was left of the screw boss, but this is something the design engineer should have figured out. Unfortunately, the injection molded bezel that needs to be removed to access the door screws cracked. It was made way too thin so they crack and GE expects you to pay 8-10 times the actual cost of the part to get a replacement. The vent screw tabs on the vent housing cracked in multiple locations so it is barely hanging on and requires tape to hold it in place. Basically, you fix one thing but damage at least 1-2 more things trying to fix it which is ridiculous. I hate GE and will never buy another product from them again. The microwave cooks well, but the housing is cheap and poor quality.

Any damage to a microwave or Advantium door (cracks, scratches, peeling, burn marks, etc.) will require service. If the paint or coating on the door is compromised, the microwave or Advantium oven should not be used until it has been checked by service; it typically requires a repair.
Federal law requires that any adjustment or repair of a microwave door also be followed up by a leak test to make sure of proper fit, operation, and alignment. This must be done by a qualified technician.
Replacing microwave or Advantium handles requires disassembly of the door, and therefore also should be replaced by a service technician. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
