First Canon for me

This is my first Canon printer as I usually just purchase cheaper brands however, I couldn't pass this deal up and the reviews seemed great with the exception of some who I don't think they knew what they were doing during setup. Setup for Wifi to a PC was a breeze. I purchased this printer and went home to set it up and it came on once and then never again. I contacted Canon support and described the situation and we agreed the unit or the cord was faulty. They shipped a replacement out and told me I would see it in about 5-7 days. It was 2 days later! By far these people know how to treat customers and have probably changed my mind about future purchases. One thing I note though is that this unit is not silent. Claims of silent operation are certainly not true here. When you turn it on it does its' process and is noisy, printing is a little less noisy but, overall not a quiet printer. Overall operation, setup, and expectations have been exceeded. Thank you Canon!

So difficult to set up!

The print quality is great and it is speedy, noisy but speedy. The double sided print feature is awesome, however to actually be able to use it took me an hour and a half! What set up takes an hour an a half!?! No printer cable was included either making it so much more difficult. There were like 4 different set up choices and when all of them failed it's only suggestion was to use a cable! The scanner cover also feels so flimsy, like any movement will end up breaking it.

I have owned the Canon printer for about, a year now and the performance has been excellent. With photo quality as good as having it printed professionally.

I recently purchased this printer but could not get it hooked up to my notebook to print wireless. I spent 2 days trying to connect this to my router, the only way I could get it to work is using a usb cord and even then it had to stay hooked up using the cord in order to print. Wireless (NOT) I am taking it back on the third day. I hope I can find another printer that is actually wireless.

DO NOT BUY
on April 3, 2014

I am a college student and I was searching for a good priced reliable printer. I bought this printer thinking that I wasn't going to have any problems with it, especially for the price and because it IS a Canon! This printer sits on top of my desk and hasn't fell off or anything like that. I have only used it about 10 times since I have had it and every single time it's a nightmare. It takes me an hour to print 10 pages because the paper is constantly getting jammed and because it just fails print (when it fails to print it sends multiple pages through the printer at one time which I am sure isn't good for the motor). Save your money!
Cons: everything!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
