Happy Camper

I purchased the printer Tuesday; since I'm not a computer geek, I decided I should wait to install it until I had someone smarter (like a kid) around! I didn't buy a USB cable, but decided this morning (Thursday) that maybe I should try installation. I followed the directions; it took exactly the time the instructions said it would; I was able to print immediately. I did not need the USB cable I didn't buy! So far, it has been a good experience, the printing was clear, it was quick, I'm happy. Did I say I'm an 81 y.o. gray-headed female?

I totally agreed with one of reviewers that gave 5 stars, it only took few minutes to install and it provided WIFI-Print-Copy-Scan for home usage. Don't take time to figure it out if you get stuck, contact 1-800-OK-CANON. The tech is patient, knowledgeable and professional. Ah, if you have wireless and router, there is no need to buy USB. It works wonderful, though I haven't used it for photos, labels and envelops yet hence I hope it does the job as expected.

so sad for canon

Canon makes some of the best imaging products out there and for them to sell items like this with poor performance etc. they should just make another brand name for these items. This printer and its wireless setup and cloud print have already tken up a number of hours and I have alot of experience with local networks etc. I cnnot imagine what it would be like for a non tech person to try and enable all these features over wireless.
ugh.

Delightfully easy, incredibly low priced!. Not only delivers what it promises on the box, but it has an incredibly easy desktop production platform. Love that "Image Garden"! And for those who aren't graphic designers, there is a plethora of ideas, instructions, and templates to create magical pieces of ORIGINAL photographic printed artwork. So cheap! So GREAT!

Worst Printer... EVER!!!

At first I thought this was a great buy. However, I was very wrong. We've had the printer less than a year. It constantly disconnects from the wireless setup and I have to go through connecting it to my PC wirelessly over and over. Such a hassel. Once I set it up, I shouldn't have to reconnect it to my PC, Phone, and iPad or son's tablet every few weeks. My mother has the same problem with the same printer. I'm getting rid of this... don't waste your time or money.

Gotta say this printer has been frustrating to use. It's great when it works.....but when it decides not to for no apparent reason its terribly frustrating. I took back the first one. The second one worked well for a month and now is having all kinds of issues. Would not recommend this product.

Very Good!!

I bought this printer/multipurpose machine to replace my old MX-870 all in one that died suddenly, and I didn't need the fax feature. I did my due diligence, but wanted a Canon that had good picture quality as the MX-870 had. This little unit is great! Easy to set up, much smaller foot print, quieter, and easy to use. It's very basic and easy to use, and while some might argue only 2 cartridges and very good picture/color quality...it does it for me, and the price on sale was about 1/3 of what I paid for my old MX-870.
So far I'm very pleased with this product!!!

Do not purchase

I'm a college student who always is using their computer and printer. This is the most unreliable printer I have ever used. It's constantly disconnecting and its nearly impossible to reconnect. I'm having such a difficult time. Especially when I have papers that are due and I'm unable to print. There are better printers out there, do not purchase this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
