Good Camera System

I bought the 8-camera DVR with 8 - 800 TVL cameras a few months ago and installed it using the provided 65 ft cables plus two 130 ft cables for the cameras that were installed further from the DVR.
The system works well and has good definition for a consumer grade application. The DVR has plenty of features to customize monitoring and I think this hard-cable method to the cameras is the way to go vs. the wireless cameras if you have a choice for your application.
Although it took more than a few minutes or steps to set up remote viewing, the app is good.
Most of all the customer support has been excellent and tenacious to help me resolve issues such as when my internet provider arbitrarily changes my IP address. Michel has been especially helpful and is very competent.
If I could change one thing about the design it would be to allow lower motion sensitivity to prevent false positive alerts and emails.
A good system at a good price.

Free one year extended warranty

I've owned this system for over two years and was quite pleased with it's ease of installation and operation. The online tutorials were a great help. The only concern I have is with the warranty. I purchased an eight camera system and almost two years to the date, one of my cameras stop working in night vision. Sadly, the warranty had expired.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Much bettter than my older Defender system

I bought the 21160 system to replace my older Defender system. The cameras have a much better picture and the wider angle is a plus. Also the night vision is much better than the system I had before. Setting up the cameras for your recording preferences is really easy and the play-back interface is simple to use. I really like the record on motion feature because it saves a lot of disk space since it only records when motion is detected. The playback feature is also easy to use.
I don't know if it's just me but the remote viewing is very difficult to set up. I still haven't been able to set it up so I can view it on my I-phone. Other than that the system works perfectly.

Good System!

I purchased my first set of 8 cameras for our Skilled Nursing Facility about 6 months ago. I had to go with the wired units instead of wireless because of the size of our locations.So far, It has been a really good system for our use. Easy to install, easy to run the inside controls & to view each camera area. The application that you can download to your smartphone is the BEST part. I can monitor my facility from home at any time! In fact I just purchase a second system for our 2nd location (16) cameras this time because it is a much bigger facility. I am excited to get them installed & I am confident that it will be just as easy to implement as last time. Sarah was my customer service representative on both purchases and she was very informative, helpful & friendly! I would defiantly recommend this product and company to anyone looking for a good security camera system.

Easy to Setup

We bought the Defender 21152 for our mobile home community and are so happy we did. The installation process was so easy and the mobile installation was a breeze thanks to Daniela who walked me through it. Daniela was very patient and personable. I would recommend this product to anyone.

A warrantee you can lean on!

I bought the system and had the cameras professionally installed. It worked Great! Then the DVR died. :( When I contacted customer service Daniela responded within a couple of hours. She outlined the exchange process. She did what she said she would do. I did what I was supposed to do and the new replacement DVR was up and running within the time frame Daniela had outlined. The quality of the camera feed is excellent and again, customer service has been outstanding.

The system works as advertised. Any system like this will have some little quirks when setting up. That's where they shine. Tech support is very helpful, and they were able to get me over a few hurdles in the setup, quickly and easily. I felt like Michel was looking over my shoulder when he helped me,
