Just arrived this morning and everything worked right out of the box except the remote control. Even this is probably operator error.

I bought this system to install at a clients Marina. I had previously installed another Defender system there and they wanted an upgrade. I moved them up to this Pro system for better picture quality, more camera's and better coverage. As expected installation and set up was a breeze and everything is working as expected! I've used systems from other companies and always find Defender the easiest to set up and use.

Best system to date

The 21160 is the best system so far. I currently have four systems up and running. I started with an SVAT system many years age that came with the SP301-C cameras with 380 lines of res. Then moved to my next system, a Defender, that came with the CV67 cameras with 420 lines of res. They used the old 4 pin S-video connection on a single cable. Two of the pins were for camera power.
The Sentinel PRO system came with 8 - 21146 widescreen cameras with 800 lines of resolution and two cables per camera with BNC connectors. One cable is dedicated to camera power and the cables run through the base, a much better system. I have two cameras set two feet apart and pointed to give a panoramic view across the front of the property. The only problem is when you turn the camera 90 degrees to its base, one of the set screws is not accessible to tighten down.
The DVR unit (model 21150) has a huge 2 Terabyte hard drive, improved firmware, and an HDMI connection and cable. The new cameras and HDMI connection to monitor provide for the clearest picture yet.
Even though the front of the unit I received doesn't look like the one pictured, the rear of the unit does and all the connections and hardware are correct. Running the cables was the hardest part, but once done, setting up the unit was a breeze. The unit starts to record as soon as the software loads. The remote control even works with the older Defender units.
Plugging or unplugging a flash drive into the USB port for backup or file transfer to computer caused the unit to reboot. The unit started rebooting several times a day for a few days. Several 30 second power recycles fixed the problem. Suggestion: unplug the unit before inserting or removing the flash drive. Or better yet, install the Netviewer 2.0 software on your computer (especially of you are using Windows 10). This eliminates the need for a flash drive in the unit. I can monitor the cameras and even create and transfer video files in AVI format for Windows to play right on my laptop or give to police.
Customer service is also great. Daniela helped me get the Netviewer software configured and running in just a few minutes.
Overall, the larger hard drive, the new 800 line cameras, the improved cabling, the HDMI connection, and the Netviewer software makes this the best system to date. I took away one star for the rebooting problem and the camera set screw design.

Great unit, but tough to set up on network

I recently installed this unit and cameras, but networking was a real headache -- the download instructions and even emails with service dept. were not helpful. Then I spoke to Michel on the phone - FANTASTIC. This representative was patient, pro-active (as in saying "here's what's going to happen when it reboots"), and anticipated my next question before I asked it. Well done.

Works for the money

The system works for the money. It's nothing fantastic but probably hard to beat in the price bracket. I had two cameras fail during the winter, sent them in and two weeks later had two new ones. Tech support is a little slow but there.
