I bought this a couple of years ago and yesterday the base started sticking to the kettle. Today it would not turn on at all. I came here to see how long these were lasting for people. Mine was used everyday but I still feel like it should have lasted longer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No replacement filter available on-line that I can find. Thus, I will have to replace a perfectly good cordless electric kettle because of a small part. Ridiculous. FYI, when you try to clean the deposits off the filter, the filter disintegrates. Everything else about this appliance is terrific, but so what? It is not supposed to be used without the filter!!!!
