living in a tiny nyc apartment I don’t have the space for both trash and recycling and this is perfect! As someone who also has less trash than recycling the different sizing is great :) highly recommend!

Nice to have the trash and recycling next to each other. Lid closes quietly. Fits perfect against the island counter side. Looks neat and clean.

Needs place for trash liners

My other dual compartment simple human step can has a slot in the back for trash bags, this one does not and requires them to be stored separately which is not ideal. Also the lid is flimsier but the surface does a bette job of not showing fingerprints.

Great trash can, but wish it had the liner bag

I bought this trash can for the dual containers. I wanted something a bit smaller than the upgraded version of this which feels larger.
However, I thought this one also came with the trash liner bag insert -- and it does not. It's a bummer, but otherwise it's a great trash can that helps me keep my trash sorted. My first one arrived dented on the side, but simplehuman gave me a refund and I was able to get a new one. Kind of annoying that you can't run an exchange on the site though - you need to return it and buy a new one.
