Very nice but with one flaw

I really like this label maker but there is one flaw that I think needs to be noted when considering a purchase of this unit. It wastes a lot of extra label to print out any particular label. There are a few tweaks you can do but none of them are great options.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to Use!

I enjoy this product very much. It is very easy to use. The only negative feature for me is the shortness of the USB wire. I would prefer it longer to reach my computer from my desk.

I bought this one to replace a much older PT label maker. Though I haven explored all of it's features yet, I'm quite pleased with the machine and the case it came with.
The versatility of this machine is amazing.

Great Label Maker. Good Software Interface.

I reviewed a number of label makers before selecting the Brother PT-D600VP with storage case. I chose this label maker for the software interface (Windows of Mac), the variety of label sizes supported, and the variety of label colors available.
The label maker prints exceptionally clear text. The software interface allows fast and easy label creation (I have not used the keypad input). The printer is exceptionally well built. I expect to get years of use from it. The case is a nice addition for storing the printer as well as a few label cartridges.
Overall, I recommend this label maker for a wide variety of applications.
Downsides: The label backing could be easier to peel, especially when printing short labels. Undo does not work when you make a mistake in the software. If you accidentally delete the text, for example: too bad, you can't get it back. Finally, the label maker always spits out a 1/2" (approximately) segment of label tape before printing. This is the result of the design and cannot be overcome. So, it's much more efficient to print a number of the same label instead of printing one at a time (if your application allows this). If you have to print a series of individual labels, I can see where the extra 1/2" cutoff would get very annoying.

Wastes rons of lable tape and often jams

This lalel printer defaults to feeding twice the size fo tape that is needed and often jams when printing, wasting even more tape. Had I known how bad this product really was, I would not have purchased it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great label maker

Love this label maker. I can use my computer to access and design my own labels. Once the software is downloaded, things get easier to use. No different then printing labels on DVD's. Worth the costs in my book, for all my collections and other things.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn't work as advitised - support is nonexistent

The brochure lends you to believe this machine can do almost anything and it does have a lot of great features. Unfortunately, they do not work as the instruction manual shows. I have been trying to work with their support team for weeks now. I keep telling them to call me any Thursday - all day long - and I can sit in front of the machine and work with them on it. But after 4 weeks now, they call me on Mondays and Tuesdays and I ask them to call me on Thursday - and no one calls me back on Thursday.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
