If you choose to purchase this case for use on the Verizon version, do so at your own risk!
I am writing this review because I have seen a lot of questions regarding the Verizon version. I have the Verizon version of the G2, I also own both the commuter and defender and they will fit "they aren't perfect but it works until the Verizon version is released" From what I can tell by looking at some pictures of the AT&T G2 aside from the different sized buttons the back of the phone is more curved and doesn't have the "sharper" edge like the Verizon does.
I first purchased the commuter as it was the first available, like I said not perfect but it works, The phone fits in the rubber sleeve nicely. The plastic outer shell will fit around the phone nicely as well, it does thou have a slight gap on the top and bottom. The rear buttons work flawlessly, it made using the rear buttons way easier. The camera and flash are slightly un-centered but work fine. The IR and mic holes on the top aren't centered but function with no problem. The headphone jack, mic and charging port work with no problem. The only issue on the bottom is that it covers part of the speaker but I didn't notice much drop in sound quality or volume. The only issue I has the time I used the case is that it would pull off the right side of the screen slightly which was kindof annoying but manageable. I also already had the Verizon screen protector on the phone and elected not to use the one provided so I have no comment on the "quality" of it.
All in all this is a great case and hopefully they have plans to make a Verizon version. These will do for now to keep my phone protected so keep your fingers crossed!
I purchased this product because I irreparably damaged my last phone by dropping it on a hard floor. I did not have insurance and had to pay an annoying fee to the manufacturer in order to get a replacement. I learned my lesson and chose Otterbox as the case to house my replacement phone because Otterbox has a reputation for being THE industry standard in smartphone protection. Thus far, the case has confirmed why Otterbox has that reputation. The phone looks absolutely wonderful in the case and I have peace of mind to know that the item which is usually the most valuable in my possession at any given time will not be easily damaged due to my carelessness.
Pros: High quality, Durable, screen was easy to install
As always the OtterBox case is very strong and definitely feels like it would protect my phone from anything that might happen. My only complaints are that with the way the LG G2 is designed with the back buttons and the way the ports on the bottom of the phone are placed the case design is not as snug as I typically expect from OtterBox. The plastic covering does not completely wrap around the rubber part, and plugging in a charger with the case on is near impossible unless you press hard enough to get the plastic to get out of the way (which caused the plastic piece to snap off within just a couple weeks use). In no way does this affect the protection of the phone, and now the piece is broken so the charger fits better. I just expect better design from OtterBox to have a more form-fitting case.
Pros: Durable, looks great
Cons: doesn't fit the phone properly, charging with case on is poor
I have an LG G2 and bought the commuter series otter box to protect my phone. Looks good. Haven't dropped it to see if it protects yet. Everyone who calls me hears an annoying echo. I called my provider and they suggested I take off the case. As soon as I did, the echo was gone.
Almost everyone I talk to on my phone hears themselves echo. Otterbox customer service was wonderful and replaced my case at no charge but I still have the same issue. If I take it off the echo is gone. This is definitely a bad design.
I shipped this case to Australia from the US for my G2. It fits the phone really well, with the inner "soft" plastic protecting the actual phone and a "rigid" plastic surround holding it tightly in place. It covers the back buttons (which become a bit easier to use) and has flaps over the headphone and micro-USB ports (which aren't too great). The lens, flash, mics and IR port are all open and can be used as normal. It also came with a screen protector for the glass on the front (which again isn't too great).
For an early case for this device it is certainly good, slim and offers good protection all round. A few niggles with the build are the only issues - flaps aren't fitted extremely well, camera hole isn't quite centred with the camera (maybe 0.3mm offset) and same with the flash (although both work fine) and the screen protector isn't flush to the edge of the screen leaving a 1mm gap between the protector and case edges. It does however feel great in the hand, doesn't "stick" to the inside of your pockets (as some cases do) and the buttons on the back feel good.
the case is very protective and with a screen as large as the LG G2'2 it needs protection. the case is fantastic but the screen protector they sent with it does not fit my screen - its smaller and there are parts of my screen, on the left and right hand side, that are exposed. Wish they would have sent one that fit properly.
