Sluggish, poor bluetooth support, no updates

Although I'm a big fan of Android devices, I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase the Wifi Galaxy Tab 7. It is slow and underpowered, hasn't received any updates from Sumsung, and won't support both Bluetooth keyboards.
First, though, the pros of the device: I like the form factor. I didn't expect the 7" size to be so nice, but it fits that middle ground well between a phone size and a large tablet. It's small enough to fit in a jacket pocket or cargo pocket, but big enough to add some extra screen space. It works well as a media player, being a great size for watching videos or reading a book. It's also good for games for the kids -- they love playing on it.
Unfortunately, that's where it ends. It is a bit sluggish and slow, so it doesn't make for a great web browser device. The software keyboard really is difficult to use for quick text entry (the combination of the screen size and sluggishness just makes the keyboard painful to use). The lack of proper bluetooth support (no HID driver!) means that you can't most bluetooth keyboards with it. So it's a pretty useless device for any sort of text entry (even writing short emails was pretty painful) Samsung hasn't been providing any updates for it, so you are stuck with an older version of Android (2.2) that doesn't really support the tablet format very well, and no hope of getting a proper Bluetooth keyboard driver.
Overall, it's not a completely terrible device, but the slow web browsing, lack of updates, and painful text entry means that I almost never decide that I'm better off using my Galaxy Tab than a smartphone.
Pros: Inexpensive, 7" size is nice
Cons: Did not meet expectations, slow, poor update support, poor bluetooth support
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not being tethered to an operating system to add/remove media is so much better than Itunes or Zune. Love my windows phone but I like the 'droid also.
I like this 7 inch tab. It's very portable and no embarassing to carry around as compared to a 10 inch tablet. It seems that this model needs a badly needed firmware update. It crashes and slows down after long term use. I cannot even connect to Kies. I hope the Gingerbread update comes soon - if I only know how to update when it finally arrives.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I am so happy with my Galaxy Tab! My husband surprised me with it after I had been looking at it for a while but wasn't going to spend the money on myself. But I am so glad he did! It is so easy to use and there are so many free apps available! I can now keep our family's appointments in one place and not worry about copying things from one calendar in my purse to another at home. Oh - and my kids are jealous and want one now too! I have also been wanting to get a video recorder, but now can use this and get really good pics and videos too!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

I found the tablet to be very functional. I have a Wi-Fi version and I love it. It scans for and picks up available networks very quickly. Easy to read screen and great lighting increse the functionality of my tablet. Large letter keyboard is a plus. The sixe allows me to slip it into a jacket pocket or a briefcase and not have it take up an excessive amount of space. Overall. I love it.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Not high def
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far I love my 7" Galaxy Tab....it does everything I need it to do and is the perfect size. It fits nicely in my purses and is a handy size to carry just about anywhere. The clarity of the screen is awesome and the ability to use sound and or haptic feedback rocks. I prefer quiet when using it in quiet environments. Its perfect! I would totally recommend this product to anyone looking for a super portable device and who doesn't want to run down the battery on their smartphone...use this instead for all of your favorite Android apps.
Love the design; the back of the Galaxy Tab isn't cold and metallic, its size overall is conveniently small, making it easily portable....it can fit into my mom's little purse no problem! :D
The battery is running out fast, the device slows down during it's use (I had to restart it several times) and of course - there's no light at the end of the tunnel since there won't be any Gingerbread upgrade for this device (which will hopefully resolve some or all of these problems).
