On my third unit and it leaks like the first two...

I just received my third dishwasher yesterday.
First one had an issue with the door latching and leaked from the back right corner. GE service came out and took a look, turned out the tub was dented (packaging was fine, so I suspect it happened prepack at the factory).
Got a new unit. This one leaked from the left and right sides a few inches in from the front of the unit. I opened it up and pulled out the racks to find two of the spot welds that secure the tub to the frame had pulled through and were the source of the leak.
Got a third unit, inspected this one as thoroughly as possible before hooking it up. Looks fine, but it leaks from the back left corner somewhere (nowhere near the water or drain lines) looks to be dripping down the side of the tub under the insulation blanket.
Quality control is must be non existent. I'd like to stick with this unit as I bought cafe for my other appliances and would prefer them all to match, but what are the odds a fourth one will be any better....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poorly Engineered, leaks, do not buy.

I am going to use the term leak for simplicity, but I am actually refering to condensation from the steam cycle building up inside the door panel and running down the inside panel until it drips down onto the floor. I am on my second unit. The first leaked after the first use on the steam cycle and after 4 attempts to fix was deemed to be non-repairable. The second exhibited the exact same symptoms as the first. After a second company was sent to repair the second unit a very knowledgable repairman determined that there was a repair kit that was designed to fix the engineering design issue. After the kit was installed, the unit did not leak until the third time running the dishwasher. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful and very quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher looks great and is extremely quiet. We have also had some issues with the dishes not all getting clean, but feel that enough detergent wasn't getting dispensed. We adjusted the water softness so that more detergent is getting added and that has helped. Even though the owners manual says you only need to scrape off solid food, the dishes do get cleaner if we rinse them first.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher has been a disappointment. For the price paid I would have expected to be able to load it to full capacity and it would do its job. You really must rinse your dishes before loading this washer and even then a few may come out dirty. In addition, loading it to full capacity will inevitably result in a few dishes needing to be rewashed.
We have had service come out to look at it and they told us it is working normally but it is not a garbage disposer and you need to rinse the dishes before loading (which we were doing already). Now we practically wash them before loading. What a waste of water.
We bought this dishwasher to match the other Cafe appliances we bought. We are happy with all of the other appliances just not this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is the dishwasher running?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We selected this dishwasher because it matched the GE Cafe Dual Fuel Range we were installing on the same wall and because it seemed to have all the right features. Our old dishwasher was excellent, so we were concerned that we would be disappointed......not so! This dishwasher cleans well; the features are fabulous; and, it is not just quiet, but almost silent....the only sound you can really hear is the water running into the machine. Two of our friends have bought this machine after seeing/hearing(or not) at our home. The price is high, but it is a great machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mostly Quiet, Very Clean Dishes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher has great features, cleans very well, and was within the price range of other stainless dishwashers with similar features. Our only complaint is that from time to time it generates a vibration during its wash cycle that is transmitted through the drain hose into our island sink cabinet which then radiates through the kitchen. We haven't successfully dampened the sound yet but we're working on it. Our children had the previous model and it produced a similar vibration. Otherwise, this is a dream machine.

Cleans Well and is Super Quiet !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our last diswasher was on it's last leg - purchased GE Cafe line when we remodeled . We wanted "Quiet" and did we get it! My husband and I both had to put our ear to door to listen and see if it was running & it was. Have used both Deep clean & normal clean but haven't had a holiday where I use china to see how well it cleans, somehow I don't see that being a problem!
