Never again

Bought this dishwasher a few years ago along with the matching stove. This dishwasher is the worst I have ever owned. Top rack on washer does not wash at all. Dishes are more dirty coming out than going in ( if that's possible) that is even with me rinsing before I put in. Have to send stuff through 2 sometimes 3 times before it's clean. Easier to just wash by hand. Had a repair man in twice and he cannot seem to find anything wrong, but does see what I am speaking about. I see they are no longer making this product. GOOD.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have had it for several years and have had to have it repaired 4 times. The top rack does not clean effectively, and now it is not draining. Uhgggg I dont want to put any more money into this pig!!

Very quiet machine, but cleaning capability is not the best

Cant handle all brands of soap

Finish Powerball Tablets do not disolve during the wash cycle. Was told to use a different brand of soap.

Recurring leak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this dishwasher for about a year now and have been dealing with a front door leak through 5 service calls now. Another reviewer mentioned the same issue, if you search the Internet you'll find others. There is a condensation issue on the inside of the door that causes this leak out of the lower left side of the door. After 5 service calls I have come to learn there is a kit to fix this, but the other reviewer said it came back. Happy that I have the extended warranty! The vent kit will be installed next week, we'll see how it goes. I hope it solves it because this would be a great review for this dishwasher otherwise, it's very quite and cleans well. I believe with the amount of complaints that I have seen about this issue GE should treat it as a recall, we have wood floors and had we not seen this issue it could have done some really serious damage to our floors.

I have had my new dishwasher for one week now and love it! It is sooo quiet! I also really like the SmartDispense, once in a while you reload the dispenser and that's it, no more putting in soap every time you start it. I also like the flexibility
of how the drawers are set up. I'm really enjoying my new dishwasher.

Happy so far

We bought a set of GE Cafe products, the dual fuel range, the convection microwave and the previous (now discontinued) version of this dishwasher, the CDWT980RSS, at an unbeatable price. We have had it a couple of weeks and it is working very well. Selecting dishwashers is complicated by the variations in combination of features, but this one has everything we were looking for. We have always used Cascade dish washing detergent and it works fine (as recommended). The dishes come out clean. There are lots of fold down tine options on the racks, and the upper rack handles wine glasses really nicely, something our previous dishwasher did not have. If the new model 980V works as well, I highly recommend it. As far as price, it pays to shop around once you decide what you want, as the prices vary hugely from store to store and the big box stores do not always have the best prices. We got an extended (5 year) warranty with all three appliances, so should be covered if problems do occur, and if you can get it I recommend it at least for the first few years. By the way the display is indeed a slightly different shade of blue than the microwave, but it is a minor aesthetic point. They all look great in our newly renovated kitchen (new counters and floor).

Super Quiet!

Replaced an other brand with a GE Cafe diswasher.
The product is super quiet which is great in an open concept home where you can hear everything between the rooms...but NOT the dishwasher.
The unit is very sleek and modern looking and works great in our kitchen design. It is a little pricer over other brands, but no other brand is as quiet.
I would recommend this to a friend!
