Took this on a trip around Europe and it survived easily! Of course, you will get scratches regardless of what any company claims given the way airlines handle luggage, but the scratches were not horrible and cannot be seen from a distance. Keep in mind that the overall size is I believe one inch too big, but none of the airlines seemed to care about that, only the weight. The suitcase itself is very large, so I would go one level smaller if you are not doing a two week trip like I did in Europe. All in all, a great buy!
