This was a gift since I like mine so much and the recipient commented on how nice it was. However I believe it is being discontinued and the replacement doesn't have the lock. I really liked the lock for leaving the suitcase in the hotel room. It is very convenient. They should re-add the lock to the newer model

This has only been used for one trip - flying PHL-MSP round trip and direct flights - but I expect/hope to use it for almost all my travel. I purchased it because the video clip at Samsonite.com for this model unabashedly said up front that it's design was meant to take on the "harshest" travel, with "extreme scratch resistance textures" - exactly what I was looking for. Would have given it five stars, except for what is below versus being rugged (and maybe time will vindicate it - I'm not as concerned about cosmetics as durability). Everything is fine post trip except for a few scuffs - the finish is such that some are only visible on quite close examination, and one is a bit more obvious though not unusually offensive. The only question is how it will fair over time and multiple trips. The zippers and other "soft" items will simply need more wear to see how they hold up - I would suppose the cloth hinge will be the first item to break down over time.

I have the orange one, and the color looks better in reality than the picture. I checked all the zippers and they all work well. I haven't tried it on a vacation yet, but seems like it would work out well!

Good cabin sized piece with smooth 4 wheels - sometimes it's so light weight that if you put a heavy handbag or duffel on it, it tips over.. So guess its a pro and a con!

I do love this suitcase but my wheel froze dragged and flattened from dragging it on just two wheels over cobblestones and rough sidewalks. I had to have the wheel replaced. So warning, it moves like a dream over smooth surfaces best on all four wheels. Use all four, don't pull with just two. Still I so love the lightweight but sturdiness that I'm going to buy the carryon. From now on I'll taxi to my lodgings instead of walking as I did in England over all the streets and sidewalks. If that had not happened I would give it five stars.
