[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator freezer compartment does not freeze frozen yogurt ice cream and I have ice crystals that form on vegetable that I freeze. Even my French bread that I slice and put into the freeze has vapor crystals on the inside of bag. I had the thermostat changed by Frigidaire and it still does not freeze ice-cream. My GE refrigerator at the rental unit I was in worked great and froze my Publix Premium Frozen Yogurt. with Frigidaire it is always soft. No Fun. also the thin plastic kick plate at the bottom cracks easily.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Milly, so sorry to hear about your ice cream experience with your refrigerator. Ice cream composition plays a role in its tendency to freeze; ice creams with higher water content may freeze at warmer temperatures than those with higher fat and sugar content. I would suggest storing your frozen goodies in the rear of the freezer compartment on the bottom (cold air sinks) where there is less air flow. While freezing foods has some amazing benefits, freezer burn is the potential downside. Freezer burn is a condition in which frozen food has been exposed to air. When food is frozen, water molecules in the food turn into ice crystals. These ice crystals then migrate to the surface of the food, which is why you often see mounds of ice on your frozen foods. Humidity and moisture in the air can also cause ice crystals to form on foods. Your friendly Frigidaire lady, Ruth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had 2 service calls in 2 months from purchase. Icing around freezer door. Reglued door gasket now changing gasket. Past reviews noted this problem in many reviews. Unacceptable . But no choice but factory service. Never buy this brand again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some reviewers said this unit is too loud. They must have hearing aids and sleep with them on. Not true. The freezer does have a problem with Ice Cream but there is a cure for it. Other reviewers said it makes ice cream too soft, so when this happened to me, I turned up the dial in the freezer. Then it made it too hard! You have to take everything out of the freezer and lower the dial again. After a few times I got it right. When it is making the ice cream too hard you can't turn the dial until after 2 hours, because you have to wait for the ice to melt. So I heated up some water to the boiling point and put it into the freezer. But I put a plate on the bottom of the pot so that it wouldn't disturb the hard plastic; that is what the bottom of what the freezer is made of, hard plastic. So I cut down the waiting time from 2 hours to melt the ice in the freezer to 1/2 an hour. Then when I could move the dial I moved it. Now the ice cream is neither too hard or too soft.
