A Galaxy Far Far Away from other competitors

I've been putting the Galaxy Tab through its paces for the last few weeks, and it is phenomenal what this device can do.
Faster, Stronger and Better than the iPad 2 in some ways. A little under-cooked in others. Lots of the quibbles lie mostly in the software, and that's also where most of the strengths lie. more about that later, but first i'd like to discuss the hardware.
It is a solidly built, premium feeling device there is no doubt. The plastic may not appeal to everyone, but it allows a better and more comfortable grip than a brushed aluminum back. The screen is a gorgeously vibrant PLS (samsung amoled variant of IPS) that looks absolutely wonderful in pictures or movies. This gorgeous screen is protected by Gorilla glass, a protective glass made by corning that is superbly resistant to pressures, cracking, falls and scratches. About a fortnight sliding this tablet in and out of my satchel without any covers or cases, and the screen looks as pristine as it did the first day i bought it. The hardware is great, the tegra 2 processor runs smoothly and some games on the android market optimized for the tegra, are a wonder to behold. The two cameras that come with the device are decent, a lot better than most tablet cameras, especially the ipad2's, but still not quite up to the mark. the rear facing 3.2 MP takes adequate shots but the flash gives things a greenish hue, but nothing to write home about. the front facing is 2 MP and does its video chatting job very admirably. But that's about it. To be fair, no one is doing any hardcore photography with a tablet anyways. Samsung deviates form most other android tablets in the market by not having any additional ports (usb/micro usb sd/microsd hdmi/microhdmi), which is disappointing, but understandable in order to maintain its profile as the thinnest and lightest tablet in the market.
Android Honeycomb is not perfect, but it is a complex and intricate OS that will richly reward some inquisitiveness and adventure. It is a OS that does a lot more than Apple's iOS, but sacrifices the almost infant-like simplicity for a more goal-oriented ultra customizable interface. Samsung's decision to overlay it's Touchwiz UX Interface on top of honeycomb is both HIT and MISS. What it does right are a couple of things, it added better settings access, easier to understand menus, a very good samsung software keyboard, and an arguably useful array of utilities like the always accessible taskbar apps, which include the ultra useful task manager, allowing you to clear background apps in a single touch. Or the built in file manager, which negates the need to download a separate app from the market to access your files. On he other hand these upgrades or UI changes, do make the tablet a teensy bit laggy, a minute jerk here and there when flipping through homescreens, a millisecond delay when hitting the apps tray or widget customization.
its not something that will turn you off the device, which is still a wonder to use, but it is enough to make you regret sometimes that you even updated the software at all. The Honeycomb UI originally featured a darker neon and black theme, kind of like TRON, but samsung's touchwiz is bright, with whites and greys, and a little cartoony, which isnt a bad thing, its actually very polished and professional, but it comes down to personal taste.
overall, even with the touchwiz UX the galaxy tab is the best tablet device i have ever used, everyday i use my laptop less and less, unless absolutely neccesary. And even then i have come to rely on the tablet a lot more.
Cons: no extra ports, touchwiz ux is slightly laggy

I have been using the 32GB Galaxy Tab 10.1 for a little over two weeks now and I feel it is really well designed tablet. It is slightly lighter than my iPad 2 and feels great when using the design in landscape mode. I have only noticed a few glitches in the operating system however different apps that I have downloaded could have caused the issues. Overall a great device and a great alternative to the iPad 2 if someone if looking for the android experience on a tablet.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, plays flash on the web
Cons: android operating system not as polished as ios
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good: 1. A large, fairly bright screen. 2. Speed and stability 3. Battery life. . 4. Completely naked android 3.1 5. Camera 3 mega pixels, video shoots very decent. 6. I tried to put a toy from Thegra zone, pinball mud. It looks very dignified! 8 Very nice market, and everything else is 3.1
Not good: 1. There is no micro SD slot and my memory of 32 gigs. Enough! 2. Little optimized software (even though every day something starts to work) but the team viewer, and dropbox is still not plowed. 3. Again due to lack of software, there is no normal player, but nothing out of the normal native formats are not supported, is that usually only shook for ipod video (MP4), and the video that he filmed. 4. no dialer in the firmware, the other also should be put. call on him no one was going, but check through it would be wise (all ussd checkers do not work as well). 5. If you install an application from the Market, climbs mistake of stopping a process and there, but you close the error and everything is OK. In principle, everything is not affected.
This tablet is so cool! The screen has great colors and so light to carry around. I take it everywhere I go. I love that it has flash. I can actually go to websites and see the videos! The tab is super fast and very easy to set up! I highy reccomend this tab! Way to go Samsung!!
Carefully selected the Galaxy 10.1 based on features and design. Now 3 weeks into ownership and recommending iPad to observers if they want a tablet with working apps and video calling right out of the box. Anxiously awaiting Skype solution that supports video calling on this tablet and Android apps that are not games and work on the full tablet screen.
