Annoying noise ruins whole experience...

Biggest problem of this printer for me is that every each time I print even a single page document, it always makes very annoying loud noise for about 40 seconds for some sort of adjustments or cleaning to make itself prepared for the next printing task... The noise during printing can be reduced by "quiet mode" with the sacrifice of speed, but I'm talking about the noise this thing makes during interval of print tasks. I mainly use this to print very small amount of document every 5-15 minutes or so, and in such case, this "automatic adjustment/preparation" time is much longer than the time used for printing itself, and there's nothing you can do about it to turn this off or anything. Be careful if you plan to print frequently with short intervals! It will surely be super annoying.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: Large Footprint, High Ink Consumption, too much noise
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

worst purchase ever

The wifi simply doesn't work on this. Tried everything, even brought someone else out, and was told to just get a better printer. The wifi is the only reason i bought this. The instructional "manual" has no relevance whatsoever to the product and may as well be in Chinese. There is literally no useful information about the wifi in it, or even the Canon boards. Searching on the internet, i found a lot of people with my problem and very few of them seemed to have at any success. When it does work, it's incredibly slow, takes minutes to process every job, and shakes like it's going to fall apart during the actual print.

Great print quality, but worst software ever. The scanning and CD software is really bad. Documentation is equally bad.

Printer broke after the 3rd use and needs to be serviced. No way to fix it myself. Not the quality I expect for the money. Can't comment on the features because I can't use any of them.
Cons: broke after 3 uses
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very happy with this printer. The print quality is great and have had no problems with it. I am using it as a wifi printer and have done copying with it as well. I like the 2 drawers with different paper types for photo or regular printing.
The only wish I have is that they have a driver for Linux as well, but the driver on WIndows 8.1 works well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this printer to replace the office printer I had had for several years. My old one an mp550 was a work horsed did everything I could think of except high quality photos. main reason I selected this one. it works well in office products, but have a bit of an issue with other software. Some issues with labels with printing tried old software and new, it works better with the new but not as well as the old printer. Same with greeting cards and thank you cards, my staple of work. I have not found a program this works well with. I design and print in 2 different formats since programs do not integrate. End product looks good enough just not as I would have liked. pictures printed look great, just not on a card. there's no way to tweak on a card. but for other work it prints fine.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: Difficult to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Granny was slow but she was old

Using this printer for about a month and am still disappointed in the time it takes to get a copy. It scans then prints and it is unbelievable how slowly it goes through the scan/print process especially when getting two sided copies. And it frequently goes through some internal click, clack, buzz and whir routine that seems to take forever when I'm waiting for a copy. I had an MG6120 that did the same thing and - silly me - I thought Canon may have improved on that internal process but this printer is actually worse. And it makes excellent photo prints and the print quality is good. I haven't decided yet about ink consumption but I'd suggest you shop around before buying this printer.
Pros: Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
