Useful edge

I adore the S Pen, so getting a Note instead of an S6 was a no-brainer for me. On the other hand, I did have to choose whether to get a Note 4 or a Note Edge. I opted for the Edge both because it looks cool and because the curved edge looked useful; I'm happy to say that it is even more useful than I expected.
I thought the app strip on the Edge would take the place of my app dock on my previous Note 3, as well as have a few useful utilities (such as the flashlight and timer). When I discovered that (like the old app dock) folders could be used on the app strip, I realized that given the number of folders that can fit, I could place my entire folder set from my apps home page onto the strip instead. It freed up a home page for extra widgets!
In addition, having all the apps I use regularly on the edge strip means having the equivalent of a dock that stays at the bottom of all the home screens; it doesn't matter what screen I'm on or even if I'm in an app, I can access the strip. It's like having a Windows taskbar or Quick Launch bar. The edges on my husband's S6 Edge aren't nearly as useful; I hope this functionality doesn't disappear in future products!
My note edge is awesome I love it's big screen and edge menus it could have less factory apps and a Lil better cpu it get hot a little faster than I would like but other than that it's perfect exactly what I wanted. And the state pen takes the cake.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, big screen, s pen
Cons: cpu gets hot fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Believe me I have had all kinds of phones that are on the market and my Note Edge is the best phone I ever owned. The functionality, ease of use, the multifunction, the resolution, the scalability, the new technology, etc, etc, etc. I could go on and on.... No better phone out there to date. Samsung, you have out done yourself!
Way to go Samsung!!! Fun, easy & simply amazing! I'm on the pathway in my goal of keeping fit for better health, so just to have the convenience of monitoring my personal results at a glance, is one step closer toward a new healthier me! What a great feature...
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, the smudge/fingerprint resistant screen a plus, viewing text messages without opening my phone
I would recommend this to a friend!

A great device but flawed

The Note Edge is a fantastic device. It looks wonderful, it runs extremely well, and it is a lot of fun to use. It is a productivity device, and so it's great for any professional who needs a powerful phone/tablet, in a compact package.
The S-Pen is incredible. It's exceedingly versatile and is the absolute best innovation Samsung has ever come up with. Screen clipping, text recognition, and precision selection are perfect. It is, perfect.
The problem, however, is with software support. Samsung and my carrier still have not updated the device to the latest version of Android, and have also chosen to remove features like App Pinning and multi-user account from this incredible device. It doesn't hinder performance, but it does make me wonder how long the device will remain relevant. Apps are slow to come to the Note Edge at all, but that isn't to say that the few developers working to really take advantage of the Note Edge aren't doing their best. There are a handful (maybe 5-10) of apps out there that really shine! But there should be a lot more and I don't think Samsung is interested in promoting and supporting Note Edge developers.
That said, the phone now, as it is, is wonderful and I don't regret purchasing it. Its camera is perfect, the screen is unbeatable, and the S-Pen I've already praised. Even the fingerprint scanner works well, you just have to register the same finger twice under two different fingers.
But I don't think it will be made better as time goes on because Samsung doesn't seem interested in it supporting anymore. There is a lack of cases for the device, Android isn't up to date and is missing features even in those devices that have Lollipop, and my carrier and Samsung aren't updating this one to Lollipop.
Cons: not receiving the latest updates, software is incomplete/features missing, lack of continued innovation by samsung
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
