Ok, so I upgraded to this phone from a Windows phone so I'll mainly be using that as reference.
The good: I like the edge edge screen and find it helpful. Good camera and it's nice having access to some apps windows does not.
The bad: I hate how android runs. I hate that I have to get an app to help kill apps and other things. I didn't have to do anything like that on windows and it ran great. This, I had so many things I couldn't see running, that when when I unplugged it my battery was dead in 4 hours. This is 4 days into having an android device. Very annoying. I found out about the app killers and got one, ran through it and the battery is ok again. It it's annoying to have to, almost babysit, my phone that way.
Also, I really, really miss Cortana and her text to speach, that is built into the phone, no app. It was all so fluid. I get an app and she asks me if I want her to read it. Then to respond. All without touching or looking at it. Now, I know android has apps for this but they are junk compared to that version. I'm using Text by Voice now and it's the closest only doesn't run or respond nearly as well.
It just seems that there are many great features missing that shouldn't be apps but settings. Like choosing if the screen comes on for a second when I get a tweet. I still can't figure out how to make it so the phone doesn't chime when I have it connected to blutooth headphones. It's already coming through the headphones, the other should be silent automatically.
Through at&t next this phone costs over a grand! I don't know how that can be considered inexpensive or value.
Still, better than an iPhone though...
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, short battery life

So, being a long time Android user I decided to revisit the iPhone after a long break (3Gs). After about 6 months I decided to return to Android through the Note Edge. Sadly I now questions this decision.
I love the size and design of the Edge and I like the idea of the secondary navigation, however it is a difficult handset to use.
1) Battery: The battery is so bad I have to charge 2-3 times a day. In fact I had to go an buy a portable charger. I feel attached to the outlet. 2) Performance: This phone is soooo slow. I am constantly making mis-selections due to the delay in response. 3)Design: I like the edge, however that, combined with the size makes it difficult to handle the phone with out inadvertently activating some app, add this to the slow performance and it can take a lot of time to even answer a phone call.
I am looking forward to getting out of this phone and have to say I might go back to iPhone. The hardware is much better, wish I could install Android on the iPhone.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Phone, but.......

don't get me wrong its a great phone, but it can be troublesome. First, the battery dies pretty quick. I'm not a heavy user. I use this phone to play clash of clans and check my email and surf the web for approximately 30-40 on average and on a full charge by the time I'm done its at 75-80 percent and no i don't have the phone on the max setting. Then the most confusing thing about the phone is that it has two different music apps. one i don't even know what it is, and the second one is the google play music. its like the phone has two separate music library. Well the google play music that i bought won't go into the music app thats on the phone. it a shame cause i like the music app over the google play app. Plus i have bluetooth connection in the car and for some reason it always goes to the music app over the google play music. The new update to lollipop causes my internet to freeze on the phone sometimes. I will be just out, and check a sport score and it will say unfortunately the internet has stopped working. its a pain cause it freeze the the internet. I never had this problem before lollipop, and yes i factory reset the phone twice already, but huh well. It must just a carrier problem cause I'm with T-. enough said. But overall, the phone works great. it takes some of the best photos, and i love how i can share pictures to my other profiles without actually having to go into the app to search for it. It has plenty of customized choices for you. although the edge can be accidentally touch and load another app, but that rarely happens to me.
Pros: Durable, Realistic color, customization, somewhat user friendly
Cons: battery life, lack of accessories, its expensive

They say an good artist, can draw a perfect circle. But is it perfect? My SG4 is that circle. It's flaws are minor and invisible to the naked eye, Does everything everything need it to do and when when I want something done I haven't done before.., it does it. Too bad this slogan it's already patented but I'll still quote it: "Never leave home without it".
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: auto spell is tooo auto... not nota good dicti

This phone provides so many functions in the palm of your hand. In particular, the "Edge" on the right side gives you a daily summary of useful information. I am so glad I spent the extra money to buy this phone. It is worth it.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, fits in the palm of your hand.
