I purchased this TV for my Dad who has been watching a Sony 55" DLP for many many years. It was finally time to upgrade and what an upgrade it is. The picture, brightness, and colors are outstanding. The touchpad remote makes it possible to search for your favorite youtube videos by speaking into the remote. The technology is amazing and very accurate. The bezel is very thin as is the TV's depth. We threw it up on a wall bracket in minutes. We always fought with glare on the DLP. Glare is a thing of the past now even in a room that's full of windows and doors. Baseball games come to life on this beast. Helmets shine, white uniforms are crisp and the green grass pops out at you. I have a Sony 40" W-Series at home that I will probably move to the bedroom to make room for one of these in my living room. It's definitely a show-stopper!
The set up that I am running is Wall Mounted TV, Denon AVR-X4100W receiver, 50' Cable running in wall between the two, using the HDMI ARC plug on the TV and Denon. I made my decision on this TV after so may "mixed" reviews. The previous TV that I had bit the dust, It was a 7 year old 52" Samsung HD LCD, thought it should have lasted longer. The picture on this thing is amassing, I have a Dish Network satellite, and the up scale looks pretty good, what is amazing is to watch a YouTube 4K demo video, that really make this TV shine. I have not had any of the operating issues others have mentioned about the Android System, I am connected to the internet via cable (Comcast) standard connection. The set up was straight forward and just followed the on screen directions, it went thru a firmware update and did take about 60 minuets, The HDMI ARC connection works flawless, and it was plug and play. I have not toyed to much with the picture settings as this looked pretty good to me out of the box, I do appreciate other reviewers giving some of the settings that they are using and may try them. I had considered a Samsung but with the boat anchor i just took off my wall, i was not so sure about their reliability. So far I am a happy customer.
I looked at many different TV's and they all looked close to the same. The salesman at the store showed us the difference that the Sony had with the color enhancer. This is what we love the vibrant colors. We decide to spend the extra money and get this TV. We were disappointed after our first viewing because the color was not there and we would have to go in and adjust the tint and the colors so not very happy. Before we could do that I was exploring the buttons on the remote when I found the magic button. There is a button on the very bottom right of the remote called "Football Mode" When you put this on the color just jumps off the screen at you and it was that simple. We use it for everything we watch, live TV or DVD's or off the DVR all the colors are vibrant. Each time you turn off the TV this function turns off so remember to turn it back on each time you want the great colors. I want to watch every movie that I like on this TV to witness the color of every movie that I have missed with my old set. We are very happy with our choice and the live scenery is stunning. We chose.... Wisely!

I love the TV however when you purchase a 3D TV you would think Sony would include 3d glasses?

Hi Amos43, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will forward your information to the proper department. Thank you for your feedback.
We don't usually impulse buy, but this sold us the minute we saw it. Phenomenal depth of color, fabulous 3D depth and great up-scaling of our Bluray CDs. Love that it syncs with our Sony BDP so only one remote is necessary. Also, the remote is user friendly and the apps are great.
Clear picture with vivid colors and excellent black levels. 4k upconversion is very good ,even better when playing bluray content. When 4K blurays finally arrive on the market I would think this Sony will then be able to display the best picture available!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost a great Television

I bought a XBR65X850C a few days ago. So far the unit is great. Until I tried plugging my GoPro into the USB port and on the tv screen a message popped up to remove the usb device it draws to much power. Grabbed a fully charged battery and put it in the GoPro and same thing. Since GoPro will record in 4K it would be nice to view it in 4K. So back this tv goes for a different brand.
