Awesome TV but needs software update to Android5.1
on June 18, 2015
Posted by: rhilal
I bought this TV two days ago and I can safely say that I have no regrets. The picture quality and the sound quality are just brilliant. The Android TV interface is a great plus. I love the interface and the availability of many of the apps on the Play Store.
My only issue with the TV is that the new Netflix update, the one that adds support to 4K, requires the Android version 5.1 and above. The TV's system is still on 5.0.2. Please roll out a system update to Android 5.1. I was so excited to watch Netflix at 4K resolution.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased this to replace my 52XBR4 that died after 7 years. Love this TV. Picture is great and when viewing 4K content it is unbelievable. Can't wait until Xfinity comes out with the new X-1 4K box at the end of the year.

This TV is yet to live up to its promise

Both this TV in October 2015. always loved Sony because I have several Sony products. I must honestly say, it has not lived up to its promise. The TV seems to have a mind of its own. It shuts off in the middle of an event and restarts. In addition, it does not immediately respond to commands, even after buying a replacement remote. I find it very sloggist. I really will like to replace but I guess my warranty might be up by now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awsome 4K TV
on May 11, 2015

This TV has very vibrant colors and awesome, brilliant picture . 1080i picture direct form outdoor antenna looks much better than 1080P TV.
The Blu-ray picture almost looks like 4K.
Start-up time is fast. Lots of apps now because of Android.
I have not checked the 3D as no glasses came with the TV.
Conclusion: Worth of its cost, in picture quality Sony is the best.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Killer Picture, the rest.....
on July 1, 2015

This thing has a fantastic picture, I truly mean that. The rest of everything; interface, remotes, personalization; is awful. There is no browser. The tv runs android and can't run Chrome. There is no 2d-3d upconversion. The promises of things like Sony Streaming are put off "indefinitely." There is a laundry list of things wrong with this tv's roll out. The picture is phenomenal, but for this amount of money, you'd like to have more than just a monitor.

Lemon but all are not

I ordered the Sony 65 4K from sony in hopes of getting an awesome TV. The tv which was delivered finally after waiting almost 2 weeks was a lemon. When I hooked it up the screen picture was messed up and went to a black screen. I was very disappointed. I have 52 inch and 40 inch Sony but not 4k. I love Sony and would purchase another one. I sent the tv back and purchased a Samsung. The return was easy. They understood and took care of the return shipping. They do have good customer service. The pictures quality on both the Samsung and Sony are awesome. The upscale is nice on the 1080 pic. You can see a difference. I was able to view the different tv's at best buy. I got a better deal on the Samsung was why I purchased it. I would by Sony again. Both tv's you pay a higher price for. A few other tv's that I looked at that had awesome picture quality are the VIzo and LG. All 4 are good tv's. It is up to you what you want to pay. But you can get a quality excellent tv in all 4 brands. I would buy any of the 4 after researching information on them all. I would go for the better deal. The good thing if you order from Sony is they pretty much give you the extended warranty. Not a bad idea when putting so much in a tv.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Where are my 3d glasess? Your TV 850c package is incomplete. I have Sony 3d active glasses and I could not able to get 3d Images. Don't tell me that, I have to spend $129.00 for one glass which should be included with TV.
