I have some periodontal issues and this has been a great alternative to regular flossing.
Get my teeth cleaned every four months and the dentist is very pleased and no reminders since getting this flosser!

If your not a flosser this will help. I've only used this for about 2 months and my dentist has notice an improvement. Sometimes I use this in addition to regular flossing. Overall it's better then a waterpik, that's for sure. It takes a couple times to get used to it, and the only downside, is that the reservoir is small, should be bit larger. Sometimes it's hard to get your water or mouthwash in the reservoir. Also take note that when you prime it for your first use which you have to do each time, it can be difficult to see if it is primed for use. I feel this item is a bit on the high side for price, but that is relatively speaking. overall yes I would recommend.
Pros: easy to use, grip on handle is comfortable
Cons: reservoir too small, it's on the expensive side
My daughter's dentist recommended the AirFloss after her braces were applied. She had a tough time using disposable flossers. She is using it regularly, and it is very effective.
Pros: convenient for home, easy to store
Cons: water splashes a little, hard to find replacement heads
this is very easy to use, gets anything caught between teeth. i use it every day!!!
Pros: it works well
Cons: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

On the verge of greatness...

This could definitely be a great product and help millions to ease gum disease and dental problems. I am on my second air floss which incorporates many of the aspects of the "cavatron" which must be used by professionals. The specially designed tip emits "microbursts" of air and water which do an excellent job helping to remove plaque without the danger of being so strong it could cause damage. But my first one stopped working in two months. I have read many other reviews citing similar problems. I think the design of the firing switch might be the problem. It is not water proof. Water can get under the switch when filling or using the air floss and go right into the electronics of the unit. I think this and possibly the use of mouthwash (which is recommended unless it contains certain chemicals) killed my first one. I am now being very careful not to get water under the switch and follow mouthwash use with warm water but it is difficult. I have a 3yr old Oral B toothbrush that is completely waterproof, especially the switch. Hopefully, waterproofing the air floss will keep the units from an early death which must be affecting a great number of the units because when I returned mine, they were swamped issuing replacements.
Pros: excellent plaque removal for a home unit, great apple-like design
Cons: not waterproof, units are failing in a few months
