Lumia 1520 beats your expectations

This is the best phone I ever had. It features bug screen, showing all details, and games looks real. It's quad-core proc is very fast compared with other phones. It loads apps in milli seconds. Camera is 20 mp, showing all the details u dream with, SD Card to keep plenty of videos, music and photos. I would recommend it over note 3 and iPhone.

Good Phone that could be better. Issues with Camera

Using this phone for my work phone.
The Good
- The size is awesome for sorting through the couple hundred emails I receive a day.
- All the bells and whistles of a top smartphone.
- Awesome camera specs (see the bad)
- Very good performance (speed)
- battery life decent so far
- love that it has Office preinstalled
- Most likely a windows issue but wish the phone had more configuration settings. Having extensive experience with Apple (iPhone 3gs, 4, 5, iPad 2, iPad 4) and Android (several Samsung Galaxy models) I feel that both the Apple and Android devices allow much more control over the device and applications, allowing the user to customize the device to their liking.

The Bad
- It's so big it extremely difficult to manage with one hand.
- There are virtually no cases on the market for it. They should be a couple options at release. Only thing I could find was a Belkin folio cover which is nice but would have preferred to pick up a more impact resistant case.
- The camera does not work. Completely locks up the phone. Did everything short of a hard reset. Found some info online that there have been issues with the shutter locking closed on this and other Nokia models. Why wouldn't this be corrected on a new model (no excuse)
- No removable battery
- Many of the windows apps have annoying advertisement banners. To no fault of Nokia.
- It's so big it extremely difficult to manage with one hand.

Almost 5 stars but best Windows phone out there

Pros-Super fast, beautiful display, great touch sensors, solidly made, stunning pictures, good sound quality, perfect reception, and great battery life, has 64gb sd slot.
Cons- The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars came down to 3 things (and I don't know if Nokia or my carrier AT&T is responsible for it) 1. No Qi charging 2. Nokia cut down from 32gb to 16gb in US models-even though I bought a 64GB sd card, it cuts down on the number of apps you can put on it because apps can't go on the sd card. 3. (and this one is carrier specific) Microsoft has this wonderful app built into the phones called DataSense that lets you not only track data usage (the ATT proprietary app does this and they won't let us use DataSense) DataSense also tells you exactly in real-time what data is being used and WHICH apps are using the excess data (ATT app doesn't). They seem to want us to go over on data usage and pay extra fees! We have a data plan of 200 mb on 1 phone, which was fine with our other Nokia 900 Windows phone with live tiles, but the Nokia Lumia 1520 has something that was turned on that made the phone use all the data in 5 days. My son has removed apps, turned stuff off etc. that makes the phone cool. Finally called ATT tech support and he said to turn off HERE app because it updates every 30 minutes and uses lots of mb. This is a great Flagship phone for windows phones and Nokia and everyone has this app except ATT who only has rights to sell this phone. How sad that it is everything you could want in a phone but can't use it because of blocked/crippled features. I can live with the first 2 problems, but the 3rd is a real disappointment. Love the phone and wanted to give 5 stars but DataSense is essential to see what is using the data. Nokia and Windows and ATT customers should insist on this being available!!

Good phone overall. Just some minor tweaks need to be made. Such as the battery life is ok depending on how much you use it and that if u don't use it that much it will last. Other than that its a fantastic phone!

The best phoone I have ever used.

Had iPhones 3 to 5. Got sick of the proprietary environment and they got boring. Went to a Samsung Galaxy Note II. Got sick of waiting for Android updates (14 months without an update!). Went to the Lumia 1520. Best phone by far. Surprised at the battery life (much better then the Note II). Love the Microsoft integration: office, xbox music, etc. It is not too big. Once you use it for a while you will be surprised at how small the others are rather than how big the 1520 is. Camera is fantastic. Display is great. Love this phone. Only negative is that some of my favorite apps are missing (flipboard, schwab, etc.). Still, I haven't regretted switching and can't imagine ever going back to apple or Samsung.

Fast and Large but still same OS

This phone is amazing on the inside with the super charged up specs....however where I feel a bit disappointed is that there really is no MAJOR change in the OS Software, so it is really like just a Windows Phone BLOWN UP to a huge 6inch.
I am not complaining about the OS, it is already speedy and fast without needing the beefed up specs.... I will be waiting with anticipation to see if Microsoft or Nokia will add or update this phone in the future with something amazing OS wise....
Coming from a Lumia 925, the camera is even better and I like to see the expressions on peoples faces when they see this huge beast!

Take A Bow Nokia!

Main reason for me to buy this phone was the size. I have been using it for two weeks now and I am more than impressed. Now this phone replaced my 920 so I was already use to windows 8. So no huge surprise there except for the new 8.3 update features. I like the personalized text tones for each contact and the addition of another row of live tiles. ( I hope the add personalized notifications for email, eg one tone for work email another tone for personal email) I also like the new program Microsoft created to upload music, much better than before.
The phone has a wonderful camera that takes awesome shots, I look forward to my next trip so I can use the story teller app) The battery is wonderful goes forever with normal calls and data.
