Best phalet out there

Was an android guy for many years, switched to this phone and love it! The camera, the videos, Cortona and the size are perfect. Wouldn't change this phone for anything else (unless you guys drop a successor to this or the 1020) the mix recording is unbelievable as well!

My Lumia 1520 is simply amazing! Sure I get teased by friends naming it "Godzilla" but I'm fine with that. A massive screen doesn't make me squint or zoom in just to read something online. The camera is perfect! Especially in really dark areas or night time, if you know how to use a camera, this is as good as it gets, except for the 1020 of course! I have no complaints about my Lumia 1520, especially can't complain when I've dropped it a couple times and nothing happened! Could it be made out of "Godzilla" skin?

Great potential, poor execution

This phone has the potential to be truly amazing. The OS is clean and refreshing. Pinning apps to a scrolling screen makes it easy to quickly find any app. The live tiles are also a great feature. The screen has great resolution. I love word flow for texting. Cortana is much more aware and helpful than Siri.
Sadly, the camera died within the first month of use. The camera took wonderful pictures, it's too bad that the hardware failed. In addition to the camera issue, whenever Cortana is pinned to the Start screen, the app locks up the phone and drains the battery (from a full charge to 0% in less than two hours). This happened on four occasions. Even unlocking the phone causes the screen to be stuck on constant "resume..." or "loading..." until a soft reset is performed. After removing Cortana from the Start screen, the phone worked fine.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great phone but breaks easily

This phone has cost me 600 in repairs. The screen is very fragile. It is amazing but get a hybrid case for it! Especially if you drop phones or jog/run. Pressure cracks happen easily.

Biggest surprise EVER; One decent app store away from putting Apple out

Let me preface this by saying my work long ago gave me a Windows 6 phone and even being given to me, I thought I got a raw deal. That phone SUCKED and I swore I would never touch another MS Phone EVER. Then Apple had a few missteps and my experiences with Droid have not been good. I figured I'd pull the trigger on a phone that I thought I could "live with" and at worse, return.
Ok, the app store is very limited. But as they expand their market, that will change. And the market will expand, that is a given because this phone flat ROCKS!
I started with an iPhone 4, went to a 4S and wife had the 5S. I was going to swing for the fences and get an iPhone 6 Plus but balked at the price and the idea that some of their revolutionary ideas have already been done. I read the reviews for the Lumia 1520 and decided to go for it.
I have not regretted it, not one second. The phone trumps even Apple in its simplicity and iCloud integration plus the ability to pull your music right off of iTunes limits the excuses. There is quite a few Nokia unique apps that I haven't explored but the fundamentals are there. Full Office Suite, seamless integration with our MS Exchange servers at work to include calendar and task duplication, and the battery life is ridiculously good.
The biggest thing? This thing is FFAASST!! I mean super fast, faster than Apple or Droid. Just a super phone. Love it.
I haven't even scratched the surface of what this thing can do but I can tell you it kicks butt pretty much. Go get it; you won't regret it.

I originally thought that this phone was just a little bit too large, and even reviewed it as being a 1/2" too big. After getting some more hands on time with the phone, i think the size and specs really separates this phone from the competition. This will defeinitely be my next phone, unless microsoft comes out with an updated version. I hope they maintain the 6" in their next iteration, as well as the stunning seamless design. I'm not crazy about the metal edge they have been using on newer phones. The unibody design of this phone is really incredible.
