The one that defeated my Surface Pro and Nexus 7

This is the best phone I have ever possessed. Great build, excellent design and amazing feel. I love reading. I read for at least 5-6 hours a day. And reading has never been more fun. I was super excited to possess a Surface Pro (original v1) and also used my Nexus 7 sometimes (mostly when SP was low on battery). Once I got my 1520 (upgraded from 920), every single device I had meant nothing to me.
Battery life is AMAZING. There is so much screen space for content. Introduced with exclusive (at the time) 3 column layout for tiles. Impressive processor, RAM and internal storage. And has a second best camera (20 MP PureView, only thing 1020 does not have is 6" screen ;-))
I would recommend this phone to anyone without a doubt.

Really nice

It's a really nice phone. It has the best screen I ever see, reading books, comics and website page never had been so easy (no zoom needed of course). The 1520 can take great photos if the subject don't move a lot (pretty hard to have a decent animal photo =/), landscape or portrait pictures are awesome, but it could be better with a 2.0f aperture and a faster focus system. Power and speed ? Don't worry, that phone can eat every apps, even photo/video edit. The application store is easy to use, paying with paypal is cool too but of course it stills lacks of application compare to concurrents.
Pros :
-Power and speed
-Battery life
-Big beautiful screen
-20 Mp camera
Cons :
-Lacks of app in store
-Camera flash is poor
-Size, I mean, they should suppress the unecessary border, or at least put the speaker on the front face
Pros: Personal, Business

This is a big, beautiful phone!

I love this phone! This is my first Windows phone and I was initially intrigued by it because I liked Windows 8.1 on the PC. I'm a big guy with big hands so a large phone is a plus. I feel like the larger screens utilize the Windows 8.1 UI more efficiently. I loved the design of the Lumia 1520 when I first saw it and the fact that it is available in yellow, (my favorite color# was very much to my liking! The size of the phone is great, fits just right in my hands. The camera is top notch, one of the best I've seen on a phone to date. App selection is not as limited as most would make you believe. This phone is fast. The quad core set up does its job well. I've had an Android phone #my previous favorite# and an iPhone and neither are nowhere close to this phone. The Xbox games and Microsoft office integration adds a dimension new to mobile phones. The seamless interaction with my PC and Xbox One#via the Xbox One Smart glass app), keep me on top of work and in the game. Microsoft is known for their constant and timely updates to keep the phone fresh even as newer competition comes out. Although, for some strange reason I haven't experienced the long lasting battery that many others seem to have as my phone is pretty much on par with my iPhone in that regard which is about average. Go figure. If you want a large, well designed, smooth operating phone that's different than anything else out there, get this Lumia 1520, you wont regret it, I don't!

Coming from a staunch Android user, this phone ROCKS!

I've been using Android phones since Donut, and looked at Windows Phone over the years and was not impressed. Switching carriers, I had the opportunity to look at all types of phones, and the Windows Phone 8.1 powered Lumia 1520 caught my eye. I talked to a few friends who work for carriers and they said that most people don't pick Windows Phones, but those that do STAY! I took a chance, bought the 1520 and i love this phone. Battery life is off the charts, coming in at about 2 days and I am a heavy user. Yeah, the app store isn't as full as Android and iPhone, but it has the apps I need and most that I want. This thing is fast, kinda big ( and I am coming from a Galaxy Note 2), but i quickly got used to the size. Cortana is about the best personal assistant I have used, the experience is solid and intuitive, the hardware is solid, the camera has had me leaving my DSLR at home more often. I could go on, but the thing I like about this phone ( and Windows Phone 8.1) over Android is the frequency of updates to the OS. I got 1 update on my Note2 in almost 2 years of use. This phone has already done 2 updates since I got it a month or so ago. And with windows announcing that we would probably get the upgrade to Win Phone 10 when it drops, I know I will get the latest and greatest as soon as it is ready. Looks like I'm going to be using Win phone for a while to come.

1 device to rule them all

I am not a big app person; I only use a few. My favorites: the Kindle app, GolfLogix, and Zinio (my magazine subscription reader). I have a Kindle HD that I have not touched in over a year. I have no need for the Kindle because the 1520 is a great 6" e-reader and it is ALWAYS in my pocket. The outdoor visibility of true black screen makes it easy to use the GOlfLogix app to keep score and find yardages while I play golf. The Gorilla glass screen is great, too. I have dropped the phone many times - no cracked screen! The camera and video meets all of my needs. The 1520 has multiple music players (Nokia mix is a great music app) and it has an FM radio (must use ear-buds as the antenna). Live Tiles are make a great UI; it is easy to customize my start screen and the tiles give me info with just a glance at the screen. The only negative I have for this phone (after about 1 year of use) is that the buttons could be raised slightly to make them easier to find. I don't have huge hands but I am also not a one handed text'r so the size of the phone never bothered me - in fact I don't think I can go back to a smaller phone after becoming accustomed to all this screen space.

The 1520 is huge but due to the cornered edges it does not feel like it is going to slip from your hand. The screen is immaculate. It has great speed for browsing. Windows 8.1 is easily the least confusing operating system there is. It's set up better for navigating programs quicker and easier than Android or iPhone. The screen and picture quality are immaculate. The only phone that can touch this camera is the 1020. Battery life is unbelievable. The only small downfall is while still very nice for video shooting the 1520 could benefit from higher fps.
