Both of the refrigerators that I received was defective . The first one didn’t have any insulation in the door and there was condensation everywhere so I got a new refrigerator.. the second one the icemaker door was not flush, and I had to have it repaired. These are brand new refrigerators that are defective.

Hello - Thank you for taking out some time to connect and share your experience. We're really sorry about the original model needing to be replaced and the door not fitting flush. That is not something we expect to happen at all.
We are glad to see that you we're able to get the door repaired. We're going to be sharing this with our appropriate teams to review. This way we can keep this in mind for our models going forward.
Let us know if you have any questions, we're always happy to help. - Jonathon@GEAppliances

Good Refrigerator - Minor Issues
on February 8, 2024

The refrigerator works well and is keeping everything cool. I have two problems with the model. The first is that the motor seems like it runs constantly. I have not had that with my previous model. The second is that the design of the doors and drawers is out of whack. In order to open either of the small drawers, you have to open both doors of the refrigerator. Seems like you should be able to open a drawer without letting ALL the cold air out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No manual except online

I would like a manual for my refrigerator. I cannot deal with online manuals. There are no repairs needed- I want a printed copy of the manual please
Response from geappliances.comBy Charlie, GE_Appliances, July 16, 2024
We can understand having a manual copy can be a lot easier. We no longer provide printed instructions in order to be better ambassadors of the environment, however, you can always find the Owner’s manual at this link here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--tNS_f22X--/r8svo2jeezevledqxfti.pdf?_ga=2.91420307.827341119.1721048116-1676878804.1700237661

I HATE this refrigerator
on August 20, 2024

I bought the 26.something cubic foot version of this refrigerator 10 years ago in slate and absolutely loved it. But after 10 yrs, when the fridge stopped cooling and my repairman told me to buy a new one (thank goodness the freezer still worked), I wanted to replace it with the same thing. However, now it came in 25.x and 27.x cubic feet so I went with this 25.x model since we're empty nesters now. There's not much to like about the new fridge except the color. First of all, it is too small. It barely holds stuff for 2 people (and we're not big on leftovers, so I'm just talking soda, juice, condiments, fruit, vegetables, cheese, yogurt, etc.) The bins are too shallow and aren't even deep enough to hold a head of lettuce. The wide bin at the bottom feels especially shallow. My biggest complaint is with the freezer - I can't believe how much smaller it is. The bins seem shallower and less wide. I can't keep all my stuff in there anymore and I have to use my downstairs freezer a lot. Ironically, this fridge appears to take up as much space as the old one, so I wonder how 1 cu ft. less can look the same on the outside yet feel so much smaller on the inside. Another thing I hate are the drawers. They are all clear plastic (vs. having white sides) and feel so cheap and flimsy compared to the old fridge. The drawers do not glide out easily and smoothly like with the old fridge. The drawer in the freezer is awful. Every time you open the freezer, the freezer drawer gets pulled out automatically. Who thought that was a good idea? What I use most often (bread, rolls) is in the bin part and I have to shove that drawer back in every time to access the bins, and every time I mutter "I hate this refrigerator". And of course, the drawer does not slide back in easily and requires a good push. Lastly, this appliance is loud. It makes this groaning/buzzing sound off and on, mostly on, that is distracting. Is this normal? I'm glad my bedroom is upstairs. It sounds like I should give it a whack to make it stop buzzing. I rated this 2 stars because it does cool and freeze, and the water dispenser works fine. Maybe if I hadn't had such a good experience with the 26.x cu ft. model I wouldn't be so disappointed with this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I did a lot of searching before my purchase. I decided on finding an American made product. One of the main reason was if service is needed I could rely on better customer service with this product. It is quiet, roomy and love the slate color.

Had this delivered a couple weeks ago so I cannot speak of its durability, but so far it has been a great refrigerator. Love the in-door ice maker and look is absolutely stunning. If you had not seen slate appliances in person, you need to as pictures do not do them justice. In my opinion it looks miles better than stainless, and the slate surface is entirely smudge free.
I would recommend this to a friend!
