Very quiet and tons of room

Love this refrigerator. First one we got was a lemon but GE has excellent customer service and after several attempts to fix mine the sent me a new one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love it! Went from the GE Slate side by side French doors to the GE Slate with French doors on top, freezer on bottom. I absolutely love the switch. I feel like I have so much more room. The fridge keeps things very cold and fresh, even fruits and vegetable are lasting much longer! This is a quality unit! I love Slate, I hope GE never stops making the slate appliances, I have them all in my kitchen, GE slate dishwasher, wall ovens and wall microwave too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Serves its purpose. Inside is cheap and generic

The icemaker hasn't worked since we put the refrigerator in place. I had to call service and schedule a service appointment. Other than that, the refrigerator is OK. It serves its purpose. But the shelves and inside the refrigerator and freezer are cheap and generic. I wouldn't buy it again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We had a side by side and we are trying a french door refrigerator for the 1st time. It installed and is running great. It will take a little while to get food arranged to what works best for us.

Very difficult to read control touch panel. Contrast and larger text needed. Also no directions in manual on how to read and change temperature settings.

We got this GE 26cf French door primarily because our old fridge died, we needed something quickly, and this had measurements that filled the space. It’s new so it works. The old one had ice and water through the door as this does and it’s a neat feature.
Having said that there are things that make you wonder, ‘what were they thinking?’ There are 3 slide out bins. One full width and 2 half width. With the left door open, the left half width slide out will pull out. Oddly, you have to open both doors to slide out the right half-width bin, the French hinge blocks the slide out by about half inch. Both doors have a non-adjustable small shelf, about 6 inches deep, at the bottom that’s pretty useless. They have to remain in the bottom location as the full width bin sticks out enough that it takes up door bin space. The small shelf in the right door is essentially blocked by the shelf above it. Hard to describe without photos (there’s an ‘option 2, attach photos but it doesn’t work), something you don’t get until it’s installed on the house. You don’t really see it in the store. Also, the descriptors for the door water/ice selections are only visible in certain lighting. With less than direct light they are almost invisible (pointed out by the guys installing).
If it were easy to return for something different we’d consider it, but it’s a refrigerator.
