Super disappointed! Don’t buy

I would not recommend buying this “Energy Star” model. We have had it for 20 months and the sealed system is broken which means the freezer isn’t freezing properly and also causing the ice maker to no longer work. Apparently if we had the “GE Profile” version it would have a 5 year warranty. 20 months and no support from the manufacturer. That’s a real crime. And it’s not like we could have abused it in some way - this is fully on GE. We will be looking for a different manufacturer for our replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It looks great and so far it is keeping my food cold/frozen. It is, however, not as quiet as my old one, especially opening and closing the freezer door and the water dispenser.

A pretty good unit overall

Lots of flexibility in the shelf positions, drawers easy to access. Would suggest making the lowest drawer in the fridge part a two drawer setup. I use it for meats on one side, and cheeses on the other. Right now you have to open both doors to get the drawer open. A two-drawer arrangement would eliminate that requirement and amplify things a bit without a significant decrease in capacity. It may be due the the unit being new, but the hinges or seals squeak when you open or close the doors. Hopefully this will go away soon.
