Pretty nice inside, less so outside

We've had the refrigerator for only a few weeks. so we can't comment on dependability. However, we do see that the temperature control seems good, as does the ice machine and the water dispenser. The shelving is fairly adjustable. The only issues thus far are that the outside is not easy to keep clean --- it shows fingerprints and hand prints quite easily. Also, the french doors bang open -- they don't have any resistance at the end of their movement.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The water and ice have little pieces of plastic.

I've had the fridge a little over a month. The water and ice are nasty. They have what looks like little pieces of plastic. We've tried dumping but he hasnt worked. When I spend this amount of money on something I expect it to work.

Ice and Water Dispenser ALWAYS LOOKS BAD

After so many years creating refrigerators, you'll think that GE would know how to make an ice and water dispenser. I've had refrigerators from maybe three different manufacturers over the last 30 years and used dozens of different ice and water dispensers at my friend's houses and various work places. However, we've had this refrigerator for about six months now and this is the worst ice and water dispenser I've ever experienced. It's impossible to use without little bits of ice (not on crush mode) and splashes of water going everywhere. Even if you hold the glass right up against the dispenser and you are very, very careful getting water, the poor choice of metal that the glass contacts ALWAYS LOOKS BAD. It should definitely be made of a different material. We are constantly having to clean it off. Really bad choice of material and really bad design GE. : (
To top all that off, the ice dispenser doesn't dispense ice well. It's gotten stuck several times and we often have to wait several seconds between each couple of ice cubes being dispensed, and the ice hopper isn't very large. So, when we have guests, we're likely to run completely out of ice.

Love this fridge - so convenient to have everything easily accessible. Room for large trays, so many shelves and so very much storage. Love the bottom freezer too. Everything is in clear eyesight. Easy to clean. Ice Maker is loud.
